    the humor thread

I can see both sides and not a huge deal to me. Personally, I come here for BR related stuff and kinda got tired of seeing that thread. No offense intended whatsoever. I think a humor subsection is great but whatever gets traffic back on here is good to me.

    the humor thread

Just MHO but in the world we now live in, people put themselves into groups where it's near impossible not to offend "the group". If I said, "zippy, you are this or that", I can see you possibly being offended but I don't put myself into any groups and I believe in respecting individuals as they...

    the humor thread

Well...say something funny and this can be a new one. Lol! I lost interest after several pages and I think that's a good enough reason. It could be a locked sticky or whatever but people stop reading the same thread after a while. I think it would be more efficient really to simply make a new...

how about some credentials from those you ask to provide tutorials ?

Agreed! Nicely centered up wind call and shooting! Congrats!

Impressive wins! Do you have the targets from those National championships? It'd be great for others to see(pics) what it takes to win at this level in the real world.

    barrel tuners

This one isn't worth the effort. Do what works for you...but preach to the experienced, only from experience. He said, she said is why there is a lot of confusion in the first place. Testing is how we know stuff!

    Custom bullet jackets

There used to be some great threads on here about bullet making by @Al Nyhus and others. The search function might help or someone may respond. I'm sure the jacket will stretch some but not much for that amount. It's probably calculable but I'm not that person either. Lol! I just think this...

    Custom bullet jackets

How much is too much stretch? Could you not use .standard .224 jacket diameters and cores in a die(s) that yields a .228 bullet? Not enough details.

    Custom bullet jackets

It'd be worth a call to J4, Sierra and to Bart. He may know if one or more makers are willing to do customs or not. I just think this is pretty much the equivalent of doing a wildcat cartridge. You'll likely need to start with something close and modify them. If it works out for you, then a...

    Custom bullet jackets

Just a guess but you will likely need to start with a .224 jacket that is long enough to be trimmed and swage the diameter up. I just don't think you'll have much luck getting anyone to tool up for 1000 custom jackets. I may well be wrong. Good luck.

    barrel tuners

I can appreciate anyone doing what works for them. Again, I really like to keep these discussions limited to my method of tuning rather than different makes or designs. I make tuners but I'm not trying to sell anyone anything by explaining my method. Only hoping to help people understand them...

    barrel tuners

I think the highlighted text should clear his words up for all better. If there's one magical spot, why did he change it for different locations, etc? Tuning to shoot small is the easy part. Tuning on the fly and to conditions is the trick and how tuners shine. I have never found this to be the...

    Clear coating a stock

It's all in the prep work and wood has its own challenges. I strongly encourage you to let someone do it with experience doing them. It should not be as simple as dropping it off by a body shop and them shooting it with leftovers. I speak from experience here in saying, that just pisses the body...

    barrel tuners

Keep in mind, he was one of the best ever at powder tuning a 6ppc. His belief was that the tuner made that even easier because it increased the tune window. Technically, he was correct but the difference is tiny. Ill go into detail on this later but this is the one area where he and i were...

    barrel tuners

Al's test shows the method I use as well as what I look for. Most show group shape changes more clearly than his example but the critical info I look for is there. Not much time at the moment but I'll try to elaborate as time allows and post more test targets. Had tons but lost a lot in a...

    barrel tuners

Yes, I remember that article. I think it was called "good vibrations." We've come a long way toward understanding them better since then. Tuners work but not the way he described, then or now. Most people just wanna know how to make them work as opposed to how they do what they do. Most agree...

    barrel tuners

That's opposite to my findings over the last 16 or so years now but I think knowing how increment values affect group shape is what many people fail to thoroughly learn, first. After all, that's how we know by how much we need to move a tuner to maintain tune with a given powder charge. By far...

    more barrel questions

No difference that I can tell, if using n133. I do think it's better in that regard with LT32 or 8208...or actually several others, depending on bullet weight and all the other stuff. 133 seems to be the variable that makes them both a little tune sensitive but I just use what shoots best and...
