    Bullet making?

The business end of a home-made reciprocating-slide core-cutter & a couple of other views.:p Used a bunch of salvaged parts and hadn't cleaned the rust off yet!:oRG

    Bullet making?

Am attempt to upload some pics: first, the OLD C&H core cutter, complete with bronze "bushing"! :oRG

    Bullet making?

ZERO free-bore length for both!!;) With 7ogive, a little free-bore length is tolerable, with the ten, not so much.:eek:RG

    Bullet making?

This!! ^^^^^!!;) I have made and used lathe turned/faced aluminum-bronze alloy(I think that's what it's called) on my OLD C&H Model M30 Wire Cutter, similar construction to Lee's, and cut hundreds of thousands of square ended cores!:pRG

    Bullet making?

All good info here. Anyone with excellent dies, materials, mechanical aptitude, and who pays attention to details can make excellent bullets, with minimal learning curve.;) RG

    Need Your Opinion

Yes, which one?!? Hell, man, 500meters being about 540 yards, that's <.130MOA , or, in any neighborhood, at any distance, "damn good shootin!";)RG

    John Ambler

I believe that you are looking for "the other" John Amber, who was, a collector, author, magazine editor (maybe Gun Digest??) . . . poor memory prevents precise details. :oRG P.S. I believe this is the man you want, however, he died around 20years ago: John T. Amber, Editor Emeritus of Gun...

    gimmick or useful?

"What get measured gets done" . . . sometimes even when it's wrong! Never underestimate the precision of tactile judgement . . . but that must be garnered via experience!;) RG

    I finally got back on......

Glad you're back, Jackie - especially for the uninformed/uneducated (New to BR) you're a light in a long dark tunnel - not everyone shares their hard earned knowledge so freely.:DRGF

    Concentricity guage

I believe that "in-bore-yaw" is somewhat of a misnomer - the bullet is not free to yaw & pitch, as is does once spinning free of the bore, rather, it's just eccentrically re-swaged - upon release, "all the bad stuff happens". :p RG

    Concentricity guage

The gauge may be, showing misalignment (out of parallel/tilt), as opposed to concentricity (or, a combination thereof). A tilted bullet may result in what the gurus call, "in-bore-yaw", which means that the center-of-gravity will be off-set (eccentric), or, out of balance (the bullet WILL swage...

    Concentricity guage

That's the diameter across the top of the lands, which simply engrave the [bullet] jacket - the groove is .243, or, "close to it". ;) RG

    Sightron 10-50 vs Nightforce 12-42

Again, Thank You, PedroS! Excellent points, which few know, and many refuse to believe! I prefer "image definition" (RESOLUTION) to be determined via some form of resolution chart, which supplies quantifiable differences. :D Resolution is HIGH on my list of necessary attributes - second...

Thank you for this summary. How did/do you establish IQ - subjective, or quantitative? RG

    Dave Brennan contact?

Al, your experiences with Dave mirror mine exactly, though, I never figured out why he published my, as [the late] Roland Potter referred to them, "rambling prose" - perhaps he liked the controversy!;) Few know how Much Dave Brennan contributed to, and supported the HUNTER CLASS - he did so...

    Free bore

Roger this, Dave! I just finished a barrel for a pal - first barrel I've done on which the 'free-bore' portion, of a proven reamer (.2046" free-bore Dia.), never touched the groove(s) . . . I reckon, by the Hawkeye view, it's a ZERO free-bore, 1.5 Deg. "throat" !??!;) It's not a BR...
