    How about Shooting Coaches?

Hey Dean, I don't feel telling a fellow shooter they missed a bull is all that outrageous. I have had it done for me and have done it for others. In the case of coaching during a match between the shooter and someone not shooting the relay, I thought it was forbidden by rule, could be wrong. I...

Tack Driver Experimental (TDX) is Dead!

Tony, things ware out on all kinds of things, rifles included, as you are well aware. I like George's thoughts, keep the old barrel and put a new one on the rifle. I would also, if mine, retain the name. It would not be the first time that has happened.....for sure! If, as Tim mentioned and is...

Minimum Scope Power for 50 Yard BR

Minimum depends on conditions. On my three primary scopes, I run 60X if the conditions allow. I have had to go down as low as 20X indoors to battle mirage. Usually outdoors, never less than 40X......usually, but not all ways.

Need guidance for a Trident / Bix N Andy issue

Glen and Hozzie are correct. Only thing I have to add would be an answer to the 'what was wrong' question. I have 3 B&A triggers and two of them failed. The fact that two of the failures were in Trident actions had nothing to do with the action, as already mentioned. I took both apart for...

    Need advice testing ammo.

Todd, Yep, berms......the scourge of the RFBR earth!! My club has 15' right and left berms on a narrow 9 bench range. 4-1/2' berm at 50, same at 100, same at 150 and then a dogleg out to 200 with a steady slope up to about 80' feet for the 200 back stop. Topographical nightmare. I hate to pick...

    Need advice testing ammo.

Now that is some critical information there! Excellent post Todd. My club, not a match club, is very much a B**** to shoot a good card at. I only do serious testing and tuning there very early in the morning when the wind is almost nonexistent. You wait too long when the wind picks up, and 4-5...

Rimfire Benchrest rifles (Calfee SPEC rifles)

Hey Tony, Correct you are, Glen's rifle is a thing of beauty! I remember the first time I saw it, 2016 Iowa State ARA tournament at Voelker's club. Could hardly keep my eyes off of it. Hope to see you in Pontiac later in the summer. Later.....Scott

    Vudoo V22S SS/F Class Action

Hey guys, just having a little fun! No harm, no foul....Lol! Mark, glad you got a good chuckle out of my post. Mike, the Muller barrel test sounds interesting. I'll look forward to seeing how that goes. I have a couple of really good barrels, with track records. Couple are Shilen, rest are...

    Vudoo V22S SS/F Class Action

"Mueller's"? Is this the same company as the Chinese scope MFG? If so, that's interesting. I hadn't heard they were making barrels.

You'er welcome brother. Best of luck with the venture! It's challenging, but that's what makes it fun!

    Wind flags for practice.

Hey bud, second page in wind flags category there are 3 listings, Ray Hill's is the second one. Location city is Plainville. Ad lists "wicks style dual vane". If you have issues, PM me. Here's his phone number 508-695-3373. Ray is up there in age, and he is in Massachusetts, hour difference...

    Wind flags for practice.

Hey Tim, been using 2 of them since my second year. I ALWAYS have one first in line and try to set it so it catches the up-down wind coming off the canopy. The second is placed somewhere in the rest of the spread according to features that could disturb things up or down, usually a berm or...

    Wind flags for practice.

I use the wicks dual vane that are made by Ray Hill and his son. They have an ad here in the classifieds on the second page under wind flags. They are offered with or without propellers. I use the ones without. I have had a set since before I started shooting sanctioned. They are very sensitive...

Rifle Recommendations for ARA Factory Class

The LVT's, in general, have always had a good reputation since they first came out. Keep in mind, as with all mass produced rifles, some are better than others. I saw and posted on your thread on RFC about ammo choices and learned there what your goal is with this rifle. I shot a couple of...

Rifle Recommendations for ARA Factory Class

So, it's a 10/22 LVT? Which Kidd trigger was installed....single stage or two stage?

Rifle Recommendations for ARA Factory Class

I am pretty sure if you check with ARA, the 540XR would not be legal. There are several rifles not listed on the above list that can not be used. Check with the sanctioning body to be sure. Most of the big score cards have been shot with CZ's, from what I have seen.

    Rimfire BR barrel maintenance.

Another perfect post above. All my current actions for competition are Stiller actions, even my Sporter, so only one bore guide needed. I have a Killough bore guide and two different rods. Both rods have a different diameter. The Killough bore guide has a removable insert and they offer two...
