    Sinclair front rest

This is a 2 1/4" fore end Hunter stock that I converted to a 3" fore end. The first order of business was to straighten and square up the bottom and the sides. It moved around more than a Saturday night drunk....this is how much milling it took to square the bottom relative to the long axis of...

    Sinclair front rest

For a VFS gun, you can use a 3" wide fore end stock.....makes a huge difference over the 2 1/4" stocks that the Hunter Class guns have to use.

    neck clearance

Never heard of it..........;) Over the past 10 years or so there's been a movement toward thicker necks in the 6PPC. There's solid reasoning behind this as N133 seems to like more neck tension that some other powders. Also, the thicker the neck is, the more hoop strength the neck will...

    6mm ppc

Works great. In fact, quite a few people f-form 30BR's this way from 6BR cases. Provided you hit it hard enough, the necks come out very nice...ready to be turned.

    6mm ppc

I'm not buyin' it, Doc! :D Anybody that can rip up the record book like you just did with an Unlimited gun....wow! -Al

    6mm ppc

Honestly, with the amount the 220R case needs to blow out to fit a 6PPC chamber, I'd f-form them the conventional way....a cheap bullet, some powder that's a skosh faster than than you'll likely use when shooting it and whatever odd SR primers you happen to have around. Set the seating...

    6mm ppc

Can't help with that load but for reference, I use 16.0 of Winchester 231 when blowing out 6BR cases to 30BR. I wouldn't use clay. Either the parrafin as suggested or Play Doh will work. The Play Doh just vaporizes. I'm sure there are others too. I pack some tissue paper very tightly on top...

    SAD NEWS

At an NBRSA Hunter Nationals there, Don told me the history of how his family came to live there. The Prairie Dog Target Range has to be one of the longest running NBRSA venues out there. Prayers to all his family and friends.

macbro single shot action firing pin dia

Michael, I've had both the EVO and EVO II Mack Bros. actions and have measured and investigated them thoroughly. This one is done up as a 22 Creedmoor twisted 1:14. It shoots the BIB 52's into nice little groups at 3,860 fps. Good shootin' :) -Al

    neck clearance

Not sure how you'd measure "on each side" ....but that gives you .004 total clearance. -Al

    6mm br

The info referenced is well over a quarter of a century in the rear view mirror. There's no doubt a good 6BR will shoot as small as a good 6PPC for single groups. What's important to remember is that SR group Benchrest is that Aggregate group sizes is what wins tournaments. The PPC is just...

How do I keep the group together?

PMA makes a weight system like that. Check and see how long a weight you can use in the stock and what dimension the O.D. of the weight can be. There are alternatives materials for weight than can help you. Adding 7-8 oz. to the butt would be like magic for gun handling. ;) -Al P.S. There is a...

How do I keep the group together?

That balance point, combined with the low butt angle on the stock, may be unloading the rear bag in recoil. It will be particularly noticeable if you shoot free recoil or with a minimal hold on the gun. That can give you the type of groups you're seeing. Beautiful rig! -Al
