Sep Report - Today was the Brady Knight Memorial match; however, it was not a registered match -- nevertheless, that didn't stop five of us from showing up to enjoy a nice day at the range (although one didn't shoot). Roger Avery left after the 100 yard agg. to attend his 50th wedding...
My condolences about your dad. As for the equipment, try to take it to the match. Beyond that try the classified section here, you can do that at your leisure.
To get this thread back on-track, I agree that's it's good that this site is still functional. Thanks to Elmer for taking time to make that happen, and I hope more former posters return.
GREAT NEWS! Elmer fixed the problem by adding a "Custom title" box right above the "Date of birth" box on the "Account details" page. Thank you, Elmer!
I saw the "about" and the "account details"; still no workie for me -- I don't see an edit option for the text. I'll send Elmer an email and see if he can help. Thanks
No workie for me. When I select "Edit profile banner," it wants to upload a file (apparently a picture file), not allow text editing. Clarification will be appreciated. :)
Mike & Tim, I'm trying to figure out how to change the text below my screen name. (I knew how to do that in the old version of the website, but don't know how to do it in this version.) I see that the two of you have text below your screen names; any ideas as to how to change the text below...
I'm helping my son off-load his shooting stuff; the following is from an ad on another website:
Bukys Tuner: excellent condition; inside diameter ~ .840 (see: e.g., click on the picture ↓↓↓ and...
Steve, the 2-Gun Grand Agg appears to be based on LV and Sporter; I thought the 2-Gun used to be based on LV and HV. Did that change? If so, when and why? (But, maybe my thinking is flawed.)
Aug Report - The above schedule shows that we were to shoot a "combined" match today; however, due to an apparent lack of much interest in that format we shot group today. We had eight shooters, including: Larry Rainwater (shooting his second benchrest match), and Bill Von Minden (who drove...
My brother-in-law, WIlliam M (Mac) Grogan, Jr. of Moseley, VA, died this afternoon, unexpectedly. He was a good man -- Godly, friendly, honest, smart, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He's in the presence of God at this very moment.
I missed this site when it went down, for two reasons: first, it was Wilbur's and Elmer's site; and second, I don't like the site to which many folks migrated. However, I do agree that the new site has some non-user-friendly aspects that were not in the previous site.
My interest in seeing the match reports was not to "find [your] real name" (I already know that); rather, it was to see the discipline, your name at the top of the list, and the names of the other shooters. BTW, congratulations on your HOF point.
The two targets are basically within the range of "most of [your] other 5-shot targets" shot that day, so those two targets don't appear to be an unusual occurrence. I'm very familiar with "4-and-1" groups; however, I don't know the answer to your question -- but, I suspect one or more of the...
Jun Report - We had 11 shooters today (the most we've had at a CF BR match this year), including: Phil Ruesseler (shooting a factory rifle in his first benchrest match), and long-absent Miles Gibby -- thanks for shooting with us and come again every chance you get.
Partial results -- 100 yard...
Based on the above, I got that book today, and just started reading it -- it's going to be a long read. So far, the most eye-opening statement I've seen is on page 8: "In September 1939, the U.S. Army had ranked seventeenth in the world in size and combat power."
