    SPEC Rifles

This will be the last comment I make but, Tony, you are incorrect. I was DIRECTLY involved in the first one before and durring, and at least one other from the SW went to an unknown Dr. Who, did, in fact, bid for it and in turn, after it turned out to be not quite up to expectation, after he...

    SPEC Rifles

Built for particular buyers??? Friend Harper, might you recall the early ones in particular were built and then sold via auction, to the highest bidder or negotiated buyer. No particulars there other than cleared check, unless I misunderstand your reference.

    SPEC Rifles

I would respectfully disagree with the spec description relative to “specification” particulars. FWIW, when these came on the scene I would talk with Bill every few weeks and had more than a few conversations when the concept was born. Not that it has any bearing on anything but my recollection...

    Ammo!

It comes up from time to time, however, first since ammo has become so tough, how many clubs are likely going to jump through those hoops. Second, since we all know so many rifles shoot well with specific lots, strikes me as a step backwards. Lastly, while currently it’s a largely a Lapua game...

State of the Art RFBR rifle (new build)

We have a couple good wood guys around here, had a heavily spalted stock years ago. Apparently the way to deal with it properly is it impregnate it, under pressure with resin that effectively “ plasticizes” it , course it also makes it heavier.

State of the Art RFBR rifle (new build)

And down the rabbit hole he goes:p He ‘s been threatening to do something for some time now. Looks like a nice build, wonder if he knows you can’t really shoot woodchucks with that thing.

Fairchance reopens for IR 50/50 Matches

Naw, it can be tough, but mostly because it’s big/open and up on a hill.

Fairchance reopens for IR 50/50 Matches

Tony, very nice news. No doubt Fairchance can be tough but, IMHO, this is what BR is all about.

Turbo V-3 Upgrade --- Hot Off the Press

Looks like a balance of a bit more spring with shallower camming, bit less travel?

Turbo V-3 Upgrade --- Hot Off the Press

Do you have any thoughts on why one Remington pattern trigger works and one does not ? Any chance you reset sear engagement on the Flavio to see if that did anything?

Rimfire Benchrest rifles (Calfee SPEC rifles)

Completely forgot about J. Mohr. Anybody who takes up the gauntlet of building sporters should be commended.

Rimfire Benchrest rifles (Calfee SPEC rifles)

With a quality front rest with a sporter bag and proper rear bag, just like a heavy gun….mostly free recoil. It is very satisfying, as I’m sure TKH will testify, to lay down a 250 outside with one.

Rimfire Benchrest rifles (Calfee SPEC rifles)

Sadly there is virtually nobody around today making top level contenders, Gordon Eck was about the last. You are mostly relegated to the used market and you need to be very judicious in getting a good one if you want to win. Sporter barrels have zero in common with straight taper blanks...

Rimfire Benchrest rifles (Calfee SPEC rifles)

Tony, A piece of Sporter trivia for you.In your second paragraph you indicate( mostly true) that because of the magazine requirement it precludes solid bottom actions. Have you ever seen any of the handful of Sporters made some time back by Tony Larson out of Wi. ? Since, as you well know, the...
