Take 1-11/2 coils off and learn how to trim it flat and try again.

    IR 50/50 Sporters

Put a variable on it and shoot it UNL. Been done before without compromise…..honest. Besides, you can then beat the bushes and get something going in IR.

    Ammo

Tony, still got a few boxes of Moscow Olimp. Right behind it, or along side some 2012 6 machine match. I actually talked to a couple Federal guys back then that explained one of their design parameters was to cut substantially barrel time for the slug, I suspect related to the higher fps.

    The new Anschutz 22 MAX

That bolt/spring/pin is wild. I’d suspect that sight extension incorporates a tuning function as well.

Change in rimfire BR over the last 10 years

With all due respect Pedro, you are wrong, at least as it applies to this country. Here, the RFBR demographic is substantially blue collar and guys make sacrifices to participate often. The other primary demographic is retirees, fixed income guys, recently fighting through 9% inflation. With...

Change in rimfire BR over the last 10 years

Pedro’s post is pretty accurate. I would add one thing. I have seen changes, more so in IR50/50 which struggles for many reasons. I have shot this from the early days and unfortunately have seen dozens drop away. Age, no doubt, but largely many, many shooters simply tire of shooting mid pack...

Change in rimfire BR over the last 10 years

Not TKH but since I followed this closely…..it was tried and more or less failed due to lack of interest from the air guys and the realization that the guns struggle in real world wind often, mor than RFBR guns The best of breed don’t even shoot pellets per se, they shoot custom swaged slugs...

Change in rimfire BR over the last 10 years

Tony pretty much got it. I have a small addition FWIW. While top ammo has gotten absurdly difficult to source these days, on average, it’s better. Top lots probably not but average, probably. The best barrels are a bit better but the average match barrel seems a fair bit better. The average guy...

    Tuners!!!!

Assuming your bbl is .900”, I would spend a fair effort between 200-225, probably closer to 200.

    2023 IR 50/50 Unlimited Nationals

I’d guess expense is a big factor, for three gun you need a good sporter, often requiring it’s own favored ammo. Your cost just went up 2X, plus with the majority of shooters getting older, many cannot shoot a 6.5x scope well. Also, IMHO, a series of bad management, including current, primarily...

Need Info on Sinclair 6PPC - BR Rifle

Your gun does not say Sinclair Intl, it says Sinclair Inc. Sinclair Intl, did not really develop until Fred stop building guns, after a lawsuit. That said, he was as good as it got in his time, my guess is he put a Hart barrel on it, probably early/ mid 1990’s Biggest liability is that it’s an...

    Rimfire Coldbore issues....

Lee, That’s why I said first/cold. Barrels vary, but also well known, it is wise to know how long your barrel can wait between shots and still shoot to established POI. If you wait more than a bit for a condition, it’s wise to throw i-2 sighters before next record shot to reestablish a...

Lee, in this case it is a no lube/cold lube issue….well known, zero to do with tuner.

I believe so. They were clones of Malsby’s which were clones of the Remington BR bullets.

    SPEC Rifles

That is where the state mates were, complete with their 30’ tall windflag poles. We shot a night UNL match there before the state 3 gun…. First time I met Denny Antonious and Wendel. Denny spent entire match under a blanket at bench, just the muzzle sticking out. I won the 10.5 lb. Until...

    SPEC Rifles

You could not have tried too hard. He shot only at Haggerstown and not in sanctioned matches. Chet was all about learning about what made RFBR rifles run and building them. He never went anyplace else because of major heart issues that finally caught up with him. Even when Gary Loughnot and I...
