    Lt 30

I haven't tried it in my PPC, but have shot LT-30 almost exclusively in my .30 Stingray (improved .30 Major, 40 degree shoulder moved ahead another 0.035"). As others have suggested, it wants light neck tension (0.002" or less). I've used it in conditions ranging from 17 to 90 degrees and 40%...

    What's in your Pocket?

You can't touch a clean Python for much under $3,000 nowadays. Wish I bought a few in the 90's. Problem was, I thought they were over-priced at $700 - $800 back then. -Lee www.singleactions.com

    Labradar = AWEsum :)

I bought mine last summer and wonder why I didn't do so sooner. Also got a generic USB battery bank for $20 to power it. -Lee www.singleactions.com

    lyman scope

All American models spanned many decades. But the LWBR 25x was produced from 1976 to 1985. -Lee www.singleactions.com

    lyman scope

They were made in the 1970's through early 1980's. They usually fetch $300 in excellent or better condition. I have a 20X All American on my .222 LV and it's a nice piece of glass. -Lee www.singleactions.com

    Annealing made perfect aztec sort

I considered doing the Gorilla. Then I remembered Larry wrote about getting a hair more powder in with the sharper shoulder. I just went up another 5 degrees and pushed it forward 0.035". These aren't big changes, but they get me real close to 30 BR capacity. BTW, I sent Alex at AMP my...

    Annealing made perfect aztec sort

I referenced their chart and was impressed. My .30 Stingray is a 40 degree .30 Major with the shoulder pushed ahead 35-thou. I wrote AMP to see what they recommend for the pilot. -Lee www.singleactions.com

    Annealing made perfect aztec sort

Many thanks Jim. That was the sort of feedback I was after. I'll likely buy one once I talk to them about a custom pilot (my score gun is a 30 caliber wildcat). -Lee www.singleactions.com

    Annealing made perfect aztec sort

Three questions on the AMP: (quick edit - I added a third) 1) Is anyone using them in short-range BR? I understand the benefit at 600 & 1000 yards 2) How often are you annealing the necks after fire-forming? 3) Has performance improved? -Lee www.singleactions.com

    Fast cars!!

Bob - I assume you probably ran the Connecting Highway back in the day too? And to echo Jackie's point, the technology we can apply to old cars is staggering. I haven't got there yet however. Still stuck on the three C's of going fast - cubes, compression, and cam. Later this month I'm...

    Fast cars!!

Neat video Butch. As you know, it all got started on old airstrips in the early 1950s (drag racing that is....the salt flats had been going for years prior). Nice to see them running on that sort of pavement again. No bleachers, no control towers, just two cars and a long stretch. If I lived...

What to focus on to improve performance?

For me it all comes down to trigger time. The more practice I get over flags, the better I tend to do in matches. And the more matches I enter, the better I tend to shoot. An old guy once gave me some good math......'talk minus action equals zero'. -Lee www.singleactions.com

    Bob cauterucio

I'm really sorry to hear this. Bob and I corresponded in 2016 when I started making bullets. He was very helpful and offered a lot of encouragement. The last time we talked, he needed George Ulrich's number. He wanted to order some spare punches. It sounds like he was still making bullets...

    Types of front rests

I have a new Farley and the Sinclair Competition. Both are fine rests. For speed, I get around a score target and back to POA faster for group with the Farley. Fine adjustment is easier with the Sinclair. Really comes down to whether you like a stick or knobs. -Lee www.singleactions.com

This forum makes my head hurt...

When you jump into benchrest, it's easy to drown in theory. I went that route myself. Read tons of PS articles, spent time on the forums, etc, etc. I'm not saying it was a waste of time....I learned a lot. But no amount of theory can replace trigger time. To get good, you must shoot.....and...

LabRadar Black Friday Deal Only $499.95

I purchased those too Jackie, except I got them individually from Midway (pretty much the same price). For the longest time, I put off buying a Lab Radar. Then one day I spoke with a fellow forum member and he convinced me to take the plunge. Glad I did. It takes no time to set-up and easily...
