    Precision Rifle actions

Thanks Joe and James, just the information I needed. The one I saw at Ron's was the reason I asked the question, James I'll send you a photo when I get back to St. Louis, if you aren't going to be at the NBRSA Nationals. What where the other modifications Bob Dodd made when he started making...

    Gripe about Sinclair/Brownells purchasing policy

I remember those days, crank the handle to make a call and so many short and long rings to know if the call was for your house. I must've been bought up right by mum and dad as we got taught we weren't allowed to pick up the phone when it was for another party line member. Have to say it didn't...

    Firing a .308 bullet in a .284 barrel

A few years ago a Benchrest shooter kept asking me for one of my used 224 cal barrels, I never had one that I was willing to let go of. He got a barrel somewhere and got someone to fit it to his BR rifle and chamber it with a 6PPC reamer.....best way to fire form 6PPC cases I'm told. He had that...

    Precision Shooting Magazines 1970 - 1990 Value?

There were quite a few technical topics covered in PS over the years that I haven't seen covered on BRC or any other forum. Were the topics relevant, yes at the time they were, are they still relevant?? I think some of those PS magazines have value, even if just historical value..........Ian

    Wind Flags 2015

Glenn no lie detector test needed.........find the one/s that are acting suspiciously and threaten to shoot them :D I've seen a few flags that have been shot and can only think they must've lied to someone :D

Next-- wind/bullet movement question, where does the wind effect the bullet the most?

All ranges aren't the same, I can say I've shot on some ranges and it didn't seem to matter what the far flag was doing as long as the second and third flag were showing what I was watching for the bullet went in the same hole and all the front flag had to show was the same general direction as...

    Wind Flags 2015

Boyd I can think of many open ranges where that doesn't happen, I was starting to think it was a myth started by someone to confuse us. I've quite often seen flags about 4' apart with their props spinning and pointing at each other and the tails straight up in the air......all that does is tell...

    Wind Flags 2015

Thanks CubCouper, seems like some flag types are better in some conditions while other flag types are better in other conditions. Perhaps that's why one day you can read them and another day it's like they're speaking a foreign language. When I look at the commercially available windflags with...

    Wind Flags 2015

Wilbur hit the nail on the head when he wrote "That said, don't buy a bunch of different flags but rather some flags that will last...and learn what they're telling you." CubCouper could you please clarify something you wrote, "My own opinion is that the worst flags out there are also the most...

    6 Jaw Scroll Chuck

Butch, Thanks, how/why has the Buck quality slipped? Are they still made in the USA? I have looked at them several times but I've managed to find a Pratt at a reasonable price when I was looking.

    6 Jaw Scroll Chuck

I use a Pratt Burnerd Griptru 6 jaw and find it even easier to adjust than a Setrite (Adjust-tru). Dusty where does the Pratt fit in the quality list, I've heard they are better than a Buck and I didn't know that Rohm made 6 jaw chucks. Ian
