    Bullet core stripping

This is a very interesting thread, and after rereading it I have a question. I read Bryan's post about sizing 6mm bullets to .22 and thought that makes sense, lead is a dead material and will not expand after being squeezed down. Then read Mr Valentines post and the last sentence made me...

    Sporter Class NBRSA

Interesting discussion and since we only shoot LV/HV in NZ whatever you decide to do in the US won't make any difference here. The only country where I have shot a four gun was in Aussie, where the rules are different compared to the US. Sp has a weight limit of 9lb, LV is the same as LV in the...

    Recessed Receiver Faces

Mike some micrometer heads are threaded and have a nut to secure them in place, if you use one of these it does away with the set screw and the problem of deforming the micrometer body where it passes through the tool. I have seen a few Starret and Mitutoyo micrometer heads with this...

    Recessed Receiver Faces

I made a couple of these a few years ago, using digital mics it is easy to zero the mic when measuring an existing barrel and use it to duplicate the new barrel. I've also made a couple with 0-25mm micrometer heads, just as effective but these were for uncommon actions..........Ian

    Calipers

Most of the calipers I use are Mitutoyo, just like my micrometers, but I have bought a couple of sets of calipers made in China, a pair of "limit" sold here in NZ and a pair of "igaging" The China made calipers are not consistant, I've tried measuring guage blocks and come up with defferent...

    Precision Rifleman Magazine July 2016

This would be a great idea, a lot of younger people seem to do a lot of learning online these days and as you say a LOT of people, who could be interested in Benchrest, know nothing about the sport or that it even exists. How do you attract people to a sport that they know nothing about...

    Farley

One thing I've found with a left hand Farley is they don't go as low as a right hand Farley. When you look at the R/H and L/H version the pinion to raise and lower the assy on the post is lower on the L/H version than the R/H version. This means with some of the low profile stocks the rest...

    Gotta love the Ausies....

Bill yes the song is hilarious and just says it as it should be said without the PC BS. I always thought that the point of introducing laws was to solve a problem, but when the problem is created by those that are already breaking the law...........why introduce more restrictive laws that will...

    Gotta love the Ausies....

G'day Bill compared to some countries Aussie does have some of the most restrictive gun control laws in the world, and the point of introducing those restrictions was to reduce gun crime, correct? Now from what I read it didn't have the effect of reducing the gun crime rate when they introduced...

From the Rail Gun Prints thread: Dusty what is the differences between an average rail gun and a spectacular rail gun, and what are the deficiencies of the McCluskey rail gun design? I have seen the McCluskey prints and thought it looked very similar in design to the early Young rail gun...

    world benchrest TEAM competition

Wayne, well put and congratulations again. My observation is that not ALL countries work as a team, but Australia seem to be working as a team more successfully than other countries. Some of the things I observed showed that some countries are picking up on this, ie sharing information about...
