I've tried Jack Neary's method only to find out that the depriming tool has a hard time going through the tiny hole, the first time whereas when reamed at .062, no problem. So my question is: doesn't the depriming tool have almost the same effect as a reamer the first time you use it?

There are other powders available, but it is often quite difficult to ensure a steady supply at a reasonable price. I will be shooting in La Fare (France) with some German friends the weekend of the 9th of March : I'll ask them and let you know but I think that they may have gone out of the scope business as mentionned in your link. Their BR scopes were very sturdy, but so heavy!
