    Bullet making?

Bill, I would really like to see a picture of this thing with the washing machine motor. Is there someone who could help you post a picture of this? John VM

    Crowns

They all work fine if they are square to the bore and no burrs etc. That being said the flat or recessed flat crown would be the easier one to accomplish this.

    Starting in Benchrest

RSW, Try to find a local match and see what they require. If there is a club match it is usually pretty casual and you can shoot what you brung. If it is a sanctioned match the gun and equipment will have to meet the rules of that sanctioning body. In most cases this would be IBS in your region...

WWCCA VFS Match Oct. 4, 2020.

The Supreme Court of Michigan has struck down all the governors orders since April 30 as unconstitutional. This opens everything up again in Michigan. Wonder how many businesses are going to sue her. Of course it is to late to set up the matches this year but should be better next year.

    Bad lots of N133 ?

I had some given to me after the world shoot and mixed it with some 99 lot powder and it shot very well. It was 1/2 and 1/2 of each and and if I remember the 99 lot was a little hotter than the 05.

Butch, I would be interested in them. John

    6BR brass

Everything said is true so far. I would try one trimmed down to 1.520 and see if that fixes the problem. I have a 22 br and it chambers the new brass fine if you full lentth size it and trim it to the 1.520 length. Some were even made with 1.5 in length.

    6BR brass

You probably need to trim about 50 thou off your cases as you probably have the chamber with the shorter neck.

Notice anything different about this Bat M Action Bolt?

Jackie,Nice work. I can see it now. Your going to get a bunch of requests to convert BAT bolts to a Remington shroud lol. It sure is easier to get a gun tuned when the firing system is working properly.

    Rifle Woes

Try it with flags and different ammo. Factory match ammo has to match the rifle or it won’t work well Barrels and bullets have to agree with each other. 4 and ones are notoriously shooter error and you could be wishing it in but getting sloppy and not paying attention to execution.

Getting the plug out of bolt

Tried applying some heat with a soldering iron and it didn’t budge when I slammed It down on a block of wood. I will probably leave it. The only reason I want the ejector in is because it has an after market bolt stop in the side of the action and when you open the bolt back the little br case...

Getting the plug out of bolt

Jackie, I do not know if it is pressed in or epoxied. But that would be a good question. I will heat it up a bit and see if it will loosen up. If not, I do not have a mill handy. Maybe I can set it up in a drill press and start it with a small center drill. Thanks for the suggestion. John VM

    Dan Opel

This is sad news indeed. I met him 15 years ago at the Super Shoot and you could not meet a nicer guy. He was a great guy to know and shoot with. My condolences to Sue John VM

Getting the plug out of bolt

Years ago I bought a 40 x Remington that was customized with a match grade barrel in 22 br .243 neck and a mc Millan stock that was pillar bedded. When this was done they removed the ejector and plugged it with a metal plug of some kind and the retaining pin was put back in. I have removed the...

    Rifle Woes

Vertical often shows ignition problems if shooting off known good rests and and known good components. Look for burrs on firing pin or roughness in the bore of the bolt or an oversized firing pin spring. This can all give inconsistent ignition. Also check your trigger and bolt to make sure there...

    Turning down or shortening.

Why not do both, cut it down to 24" and turn the barrel down a .100. If it is turned down full length it should not change the dimensions internally that much. I had a barrel that had .100 machined off on the last 3 inches and it shot quite well. A Shilen barrel if I recall correctly. Just do it...
