    neska actions

That is correct but Glen started a new company, he first called it Phoenix Machine(2 or 3 years ago I believe) he later changed the name to Defiance Machine. James

    neska actions

You would be talking about Glen Harrison. The new company is Defiance Machine. http://www.defiancemachine.com/ I have one of his complete actions and one of his receivers with a PTG bolt. I really like both of them. The complete action is better than the receiver with PTG bolt but I have a...

    High Speed Steel Lathe Tooling

Bob, Nice video but it would be nice if at the end you didn't move them out of the camera view while you are talking about the internal threading and grooving tool;). Just ribbing you a little but I would like to see what you are trying to show us just out of camera view as the detail in the...

Drill rod sizes for Gordy'd "grizzly rods"

When Gordy's video came out there was no choice except to make your own. I used w-1 drill rod at least 12" long 13/64", 15/64", and 17/64" in dia. The rods are very handy also for checking bushing to bore fit. You probably know this but if you spot it with a center drill then run a live center...

    Savage model 12 bolt problem

I have a Rifle Basics trigger on a model 12. It isn't in the same class as a Jewell but it sure beats the heck out of the accutrigger. I talked to one shooter who has both the Rifle basics and the SSS competition trigger on different Savages and prefers the Rifle Basics. James

    Reading Group Shape

I can't tell much by your targets but it looks to me that your load needs tuned. I think you also have some wind effect there. Try this. http://www.6mmbr.com/laddertest.html It is rare that I don't find a load that is competitive at 1000 yards (Benchrest) doing a single ladder test for a new...

    Two brake questions.

Check out Ross Schuler's ad in the classifieds. http://benchrest.com/class/index.php?a=2&b=443 They are very effective only $10 more than the Harrels and quieter than the Harrels in spite of having the baffles angled rearward. Nothing against the Harrels though. James

Lets revisit the IBS 600/1000 DQ rules--kind of long.

Charles, The 6 inch penalty is for 600 yards, there is a 10 inch penalty for each shot off paper in NBRSA 1000. The width of the official IBS 1000 yard target is 42 inches. James

Reaming out SR primers to LR?

Leeroy, You could use a collet and single point bore them. Seems the simple solution to me, just to see how it will work. James

    Judgement,are these bullets exploding!

Jeff, All I see is the vapor trail. It appears that when the third flag switches to more of a head wind the trail is more visible, making it appear that there is more of a puff of smoke behind the bullet on those shots. Nice target, did you hold for the wind or keep it on the x? James

base to ogive tolerance when sorting???

Charles, That chicken $hit Regan won't shoot with us anymore. That don't mean there isn't some stiff competition at Byers anymore though. Mike, I believe Joe is refering to Williamsport the other and original 1000yd Benchrest orginization. James

Ignition, esp. primer and case web

Tom, It would be interesting to see a comparison of the shape of the pressure curve between primers and also the effect of temp changes between primers. This would make a great Precision Shooting article, the magazine has been kind of lacking lately for accuracy related articles. James
