    Remington clones

Tod, If you are looking for an action that opens easily I am told you want a Barnard. They offer a model that fits the Remington stock footprint and uses Remington compatible triggers, I believe it is the Model S. I think they are the ugliest action on the market so if they weren't any good I...

    Windage top design

Try Bruce Baer. http://www.baercustomrifles.com/ The windage tray I have for a rear HG rest has no springs, doesn't appear to be any different than a front windage tray to me, but no springs. James

    Bridgeville results question

Hal, In 600yd IBS the only purpose of the x ring is an aiming point, it has no value as far as scoring. While IBS 600 yard score ties are broken by group IBS 1000 yard score ties are broken first by x count then group size unless that changed again at this winters meeting. LR general section...

    Bridgeville results question

I see in Heavy Gun both Larry Morrison and Dean Mihalovits had a score of 190 but Larry had the smaller group agg., 2.627 compared to Dean's 3.516 but for some reason Dean is listed as the HG score winner. Were there some IBS rule changes this winter that I am not aware of? Or is it just a...

Freerecoil with a 338 Lapua Magnum

It's even less than a 20ga. I can spot my shots at 200 yards with my 338 Lapua much easier than I can with my 243 Win. The both weigh around 11 lbs. The 243 however doesn't have a brake on it. James

Feedback on the New Sightron 10-50X?

I've only had mine out once, can't think of anything bad to say about it. Clarity is good, tracking seems ok. 50x is a lot of magnification. I was pleasantly surprised at the amount of eye relief. It would have been nice to have had the lense caps with it but I am glad to have the scope in hand...

    NEW to CHAMBERING

There can be. You probably have 1018 cold rolled, it is very grabby when you try to run the reamer in and if your not careful you will snap the reamer. If you havn't seen a barrel chambered before I would recommend getting the Grizzly Machine chambering video by Gordy Gritters. You don't have to...

    600 Yard SOTY

Ken, At the matches designated as SOTY you can earn points for Shooter of The Year. If the matches are not designated as SOTY you cannot earn Shooter of The Year points at that match. Good luck. James

    7MM and twist rate

When Berger says that you need a 1:10 twist to stabilize the .284 168 grain bullet they mean that you need a minimum of 1:10 twist to stabilize them. A 1:9 twist is a faster twist than the 1:10 so it will also stabilize the 168s. A 1:14 twist (slower) will not stabilize the 168s and a 1:12...

    Lg stock? HG Brake?

Sorry Eric, I guess I completely misunderstood what you are asking. I interpreted "rail system" as a "rail gun" which normally refers to a 1 piece rest attached to the rifle. Stilll not completely sure what you mean by "rails". But I think BountyHunter is on top of it. James

    Lg stock? HG Brake?

BH, I understood Eric to be asking about a rail gun like is used in point blank unlimited class. There is no problem with attachments as long as the front and rear rests aren't connected and the rear rest isn't mechanical on a light gun. You also need a sand bag supporting both the front and...

    Lg stock? HG Brake?

Eric, No, no mechanical rear rests in LG, ok in HG. Front and rear rests cannot be connected in LG or HG. NBRSA does allow mechanical rear rests in LG, don't know about Williamsport. James

    Lg stock? HG Brake?

Eric, No limit on width for LG or HG. No brakes allowed in HG class in IBS, it is OK for NBRSA or Williamsport which includes Missoula, MT. You can also have a brake in AR 600 & 1000yd IBS class. I keep hoping HG brakes in IBS will get passed. James
