    Rimfire chambers

Chambering a rimfire barrel is not difficult. Its pretty basic machining. The art is knowing where, & the finishing of it. I do not finish a chamber because, well,, I do not know how. The barrels all seem to shoot fine however I've always felt I've left something on the table. All you ever get or...

    IR 50/50 275 Type Scoring

I've thought about this for several days now. While I try to be open minded to new ideas & have no real issue with 275 scoring, I too feel the same as the rest. I'm not in favor of a change to IR50 as we know it. Any 275 matches should be left for "fun" or" money" matches imo. I've been apart...

Needed:30mm scope rings for 11mm dovetail

Butch, if you have a set of Kelbly's dovetails for instance, you can mill .030-.050 (don't remember) off the bottom of them. Otherwise I have a set of 30mm Kelbly's that fit on my Anschutz you're welcome too. Keith

Potential New Sporter 10 Shot Records

Three potential IR50 Sporter 10 Shot records were shot last night at the Maine State match. Bruce Hornstein shot an outstanding 114 on the last card. Current record is 108. Also he & Tony Picarelli each shot 248's with Tony edging him out on the higher 1st card. Current record is 244...

    IR 50/50 Sporters

I drove 50 hrs over the last 2 weekends to WV & PA mainly to compete with the sporter, see friends & meet others. I guess its how bad you want to. I want to. You have 20 sporter cards 8/13-8/15 being shot in Boothbay, 30 minutes away, shooting the IR target, lunch provided Finish the gun & come...

    Probes

I like the Begg's style probes best as the cups can be set at the same height as your flags. Also I feel like their easier to see. I own an small original & large model of the same design/quality. http://benchrest.com/class/index.php?a=2&b=12853 Keith

    Brought home a Heavy 10

Not sure if you can get the BXA holders low enough. AXA is what I've got. I prefer my Enco 4 way tool post though with the exception of some of my tiny/round boring bars. Then the AXA-2 holder is handy. Great little hobby/2nd operation lathe, but imo just that. Keith

    Need a rimfire BR stock

Butch, you can mill the bottom of say, Harrell’s or Kelbly’s to work for 11mm dovetails. Don’t remember how much exactly but think it’s around .050?. BKL makes decent inexpensive 11mm rings as well. Keith

Front and Rear bags for Sporter Class

I'm using a Mini Gator with straight Cordura ears. Have had a Gator as well as other bags with the angled ears I don't shoot any better/worse with the straight ones. I prefer the standard Cordura over the slick ears as it seems easier to conform to the profile of the stock better & stay that...

    Lot Testing With Tuner

I had to make my own that ended up being 3.3oz on an . 850 barrel. A shaved the barrel on a friends Harrell's & it ended up in the 4.5oz range. They both work. How much weight are you trying to lose? Keith

    100 Yard Rimfire Benchrest

Mike I agree with most of what you've said with the exception of the what precision guys have learned would no longer be useful. Maybe I'm misunderstanding you but from the 100 yd shooting I've been doing I find that one needs to be more in tune with their flags/equipment. Mainly their tails...

    100 Yard Rimfire Benchrest

I am wondering if there would be enough interest in sanctioned 100 yard shooting. I have been playing around with it the past few years & have found it to be very challenging as well as very doable as long as conditions aren't miserable. What I mainly use is all those test lots that didn't shoot...

    chamber

The JGS Nevius reamer I have does not have a C dimension as it does not cut for the rim. Not sure if you have options for it from them or not. It is why I got it to experiment with engraving length's. Keith

2020 IR 50/50 Hall Of Fame Points

Congratulations to both gentlemen on their fine accomplishments! Bruce has always set the Bar pretty high. I don't think anyone worked harder on their game the past couple years than Tony P. Congrats to Jason & TKH on their stellar years earning over 100 pts as well. Also to Jason for breaking...

    AMMO Comparison

Its an interesting read. Personally I have never sorted any ammo. Don't have the patience for it.Even if I thought it would gain any advantage I wouldn't bother. I think there's too many other variables. Keith
