Todd, Yes there is a good reason for more than 2 rings. As someone mentioned above the scope is going to "whip around a bit" during recoil. The method I use is simple. 2 rings in front and 1 in the back, all lapped while mounted on the gun. I believe this will help with the scope failure...

i haven't purchased powder since 2005. What is a fair pice for unopened 8 lb jugs of an excellent lot of pulldown 8208. I have three unopened 8lb jugs.

When I have weighed 8208 it will stay within .1 gr after a few charges are thrown. It measures way better in my redding than the 133 does.
