The biggest issue with the 280 is brass quality, unless you can get (and afford RWS) and the 284 has quality brass (Lapua and Norma), I've had both and would go with the 284. Matt

Barnard sell an adapter for a Jewell to be fitted to P, is there a problem with the Barnard trigger ???? There is light spring kit avalible, most P's are delivered with a heavy spring set as most are used for Fullbore type shooting, if you want a lighter trigger pull I would suggest have a light...

I have had a reamer ground with a .220" freebore and it works well with most of the 180's (don't know about the JLK's). It also is OK with Berger 168's. I wouldn't go any less than .220" if your set on the 180's. Matt P

I would suggest either the Barnard P or S both are great actions out of the box and the other plus is you can shoot a 223 of the 308 (BR) bolt face by simply changing the extractor, that way you could run a switch barrel set up for both of the calibers you mention using only 1 action. Matt P

I have a muzzle brake coming from PTG, it comes with a bore to suit a 22 cal which will need to be bored out to suit a 30 cal, my question is how big ???? Thanks Matt P
