My Remington 591 has had one mounted since 1978. It has performed flawlessly and remained crisp and clear. I have found it to be useful down to about 15 yds. No clicks and the cross hairs move in the sight picture with adjustments. Windage adjustable rings helped the side to side picture.

Reverse translating back in to French made the article easier to read for me but the gist was the same. I've had some luck with R50, and even better results with RWS 22mag. Ungodly expensive but it works very well for me. Merci mon ami, vous etes un bon hommme.
