    Most of the E's had the flat top bolt handle. It was actually an investment casting, apparently a cost-saving measure. Some of the very early E's did in fact have the round shank bolt handle as used on the previous models. Steve

    All the E actions had a flat milled on bottom for the recoil lug which was used only on the Internationals. None the less, all the E actions had this. Also, the stock does not have provisions for the barrel tuning adjustment that the D's used. The barrel was counterbored(recessed) about 1/2"...
