How did I get there (my story)

I recall that you had posted previously that your available ammo was marginal. If that was the case the hurricane winds you were shooting in were a blessing. Nothing like strong winds to level the ammo influence across the field. I'm a waiter-chaser. I'm waiting for conditions that I have an...

How did I get there (my story)

Congratulations. Very generous of you to share so much of your experiences. Being unwilling to make big holds in big winds is a slow self inflicted death. You will occassionally get caught out but that is better than an inevitable slow bleed of points. You posted elsewhere recently that you...

How did I get there (my story)

That is gold right there. And it makes your arguement for coaching and the mental game because your sharing it does two things. First, some people might grab the idea and use it as presented. Or someone else will see the creativity in it and be freed to come up with a solution of their own...

How did I get there (my story)

I am not a bona fide BR shooter ... my flavor is F Class. Thus the margin for error is greater and the ammo requirements less stringent. That said my rifle is a factory Anschutz 1913 so I'm at least one rung down the ladder there. The net result is a bit more forgiving than Pedro's requirements...

How did I get there (my story)

Bassham's mental management model has three parts ... conscious, subconscious, and self-image. I believe he would say that much of the gear prep phase of competition falls to the conscious mind. The other two could play a small part but it is primarily our conscious minds that do all the data...

How did I get there (my story)

Thank you for your generous sharing of information. It is obvious you are really putting considerable time and consideration in these posts. I hesitate to diminish the standard of content in this thread but how can you teach without feedback from your students. I answer yes to the four...

    My range trip

Hey Frank, excuse me if this is a ridiculous question but is that a Walther. If so when you get a minute I would really like to hear about it. Thank you.

    Watching Wind Flags

Me neither ... when I started. So I just put out three and added one at a time till I got up to six. Now at six I sometimes catch myself having not paid attention to one. I have one off colored flag and it gets rotated to that position to shake things up.

    Repeater actions from Turbo

A couple of comments. I like the large mags because I find them easier on my old hand but obviously not everyone is a fan. For anyone interested about how the round is handled by this action it is worth slowing the video down to ,25 speed and make your own judgement of the attitude of the...

    Ammo!

Here is my idea. Lapua/Eley sponsor the event and show up with ammo from as many different lots as practical. Competitors are required to use ammo from those lots only. You buy ammo to test, choose from what is available to compete with and have the option of buying in quantity at any time. I...
