The gun has a substantial straight grain walnut stock. Forend is 4.5 wide. Butt is 2.5 wide and parallel to the forend. Barrell is 6 groove. Cut rifling. Its 1.25 by 28. The action is a Schultz & Larson. Don't know how to post a picture.

I have acquired an older unlimited bench gun. It has what I think are Weaver bases on the gun. What scope would have been used back then. What brand? What power? What rings? It is in caliber 240 Donaldson Wasp. I want to try and keep it vintage if I can. I am gonna shoot it.

It most certainly will, and a fair bit shorter. I'd guess you have eyepiece /reticle adjustment improperly set, or you have one with a problem. Its the scope. I put it on a "dog" gun. It performs admirably at 100 and beyond. Not bad mouthing the scope. Just pointing out a possible...
