Vern,
I graduated from Murray State College in 1997. Went to work for a company in St Louis MO doing gunsmithing and made about $17 bucks an hour (commission work). The bad news - I was able to get a machinist job at (then) for a company doing work for the aircraft manufacturing industry making $25 an hour (until NAFTA caused or jobs to go south of the border).
The thing that stopped me from setting up my own shop was the ATF paperwork (and crap) and the requirement to have $5 million in liability insurance. The initial startup cost and figuring to not make a profit for 4 or 5 years turned me into a hobbiest.

Hello Skeetlee,
I have seen you on this site and would be happy to do some work for you.
Butch is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet in this sport and I have met people that are amazing since begining shooting Benchrest. I am flatered that he has spoken highly of me and do not take that lightly. I will work on your guns if you allow me to and I will produce the highest quality me and my machines can possibly produce. I have worked very hard to get to where I am and if you trust me to work on your guns I will do the best job I can and make sure you get the benchrest quality job you desire. As for prices I get $125 to bed a rifle $180 for pillar beding (includes pillars) rebarrel runs $250. I hope to hear from you again and I am glad to have the chance to talk to you and hope to call you a friend and customer in the near future.
Thank you

Butch,
I just wanted to personaly thank you for your kind words in the gunsmith for a living post. I fully intend to hang in and make this work for me and the encouragement from someone like you really makes me stand a little straighter and want to produce the best product I can. Thank you again and If I am one of the good guys as you say then that has to put you into a group that I can only aspire to earn my way into some day.
Thanks for your kind words

Hi,

I was wondering if you had any photo's of your rifle completed with the new style scoville offset stock.
I am currently building a similar style rifle and would like some more inspiration.

If you could email them to me on rhys.edgley@bigpond.com

Thanks
Rhys
Kent,
No problem with your post on the forum. I understood what you were saying. There is a Newbie for Ga that tends to run off at the mouth without knowing what's going on. He's a great guy, but speaks before he has the facts. It's my understanding that only three of us have ever shoot 250 sporter scores there. It was my first that I've shot in comp (that was in last years Crawfish). I shot a sack just practicing, but only that one in comp, go figure.
Well,
I just got back from Jay Lynn Gore's house with the barrel. It is too short to go through the headstock in my lathe. I will cut the threads off a longer barrel and start over. Sorry for the delay.

Have you been hearing anything about the NEW 8208 XBR being blended with H322? I was told 50/50??????

I have heard that the guys around Phoenix are playing with that. This came from a fellow Cannuck who is wintering there and shooting at Phoenix. He shot the Cactus Warmup.

Hi Nat,

I'm getting ready to put together a pressure flush system to use while chambering. I've seen mention of a file or document that describes your pressure muzzle flush system that you have offered to e-mail to some folks. Would you e-mail it to me? I'd sure appreciate it.

Thank you for your time and I promise to be brief. I would like to attend the Tomball match on the 6th and need an address. I will be coming from Ft.Worth area and would appreciate an address so I could plug that into a gps or mapquest. I do not want to waste your time with you typing out all the directions Ishould be ok and be able to find it before the match on Sunday. Also I was wondering if on saturday I might be able to put a few rounds down the barrel there since I am toying with the idea of chambering a new barrel and will have very little load time this coming week. I am new to bench rest and this will be my 2nd match to attend but I am learning so much from the bench community. I appreciate all you guys do and thank you for helping. Thanks again and I hope to hear from you soon.
