Wind flag disasters

Not that too many people care...but..."It is compounds of Hg, including mercury chloride, that are highly toxic" It depends on which Mercury you're talking about. If it is Mercury I Chloride (commonly known as Calomel) - it is not very dangerous because it is insoluble. It is found in Calomine Lotion. People actually put this on their skin to get rid of insect or plant irritations. Mercury II Chloride (mercuric chloride) is very poisonous. It is soluble and was a "poison of choice" in earlier times. I'm not sure which compound (or if it just the element) you guys are talking about - but it would have to be pretty important for me to use Mercury. OK - back to original subject.

I'm talking about mercuric chloride.
My problem dealing with elemental mercury would be worry over how easily, over time in a real-world environment, it would form mercury II chloride or organic compounds of Hg.

Al, would that be plastic or metal knitting needles ? What diameter ? Thanks,
Dick

Dick, I've not used the plastic ones, ust the aluminum. The #10's I have measure from .250-.255, depending on mfg. so they work in the 'standard' 1/4" pivot arangement. The #11's measure .312 (5/16") in dia.

Good shootin'. -Al
