Winchester 52E

Hi, I have a Winchester 52E prone rifle. I no longer shoot prone and have fitted Weaver mounts and a scope, however, the rifle is too heavy and cumbersome for bench competition. I have considered making a bench gun out of it but cannot bring myself to modify such a nice gun.
Would anyone have an idea what value it may have on the market? It is in very good condition, normal wear for a 35yo rifle, has the original stock and Redfield apeture sight.

Are you asking what the market value is here in the States? Can you export the rifle back to the US?

Yes, I was wondering what the value would be in the States. As for shipping the problem is not exporting but getting it into the US.

Value of a winchester 52E

It depends on the rifles condition. The Blue book value is $900 for a rifle in %80 condition, and $1400 for a rifle in %100 condition.

your 52 E

gaday Frank, I collect 52's and shoot a number of them in BR and silhouette, and all shoot fantastic, I have sold a few to new shooters and they have had great results, I have paid between $450.00 and $800.00 Australian for what you have in B. D and E's. If I was you I would re stock it with a Peter VanMurin laminated Stock. and put a tuner on it and I bet you will do well. Cantact me if you like onphill smyth@hotmail.com if you want anymore info regards Phill

Value of a winchester 52E

I posted some blue book prices earlier. Your rifle is a very nice collectable. If you could email some pictures I could possibily give you a better idea of the rifles value. My email is jls3444@yahoo.com

Probably worth more...

A Winchester 52C was about to sell on Gunbroker.com a while ago, price bid with ten minutes left was $1,975. An E model in good condition, I would think it would go for $1,500 to $2,000. More if it has a Kenyon trigger. Watch the ads on Gunbroker.com and other sites to get an idea as to what is selling for what. Good luck.
