Who makes the best carts for Railguns and rests?

For the Nationals. I was going to have Art Clegg pick me up a cart from Home Depot down by Ben Avery, but they are all gone. I have been looking at the following cart- http://www.cleanairgardening.com/alfoutgaca.html

Any other thoughts before I order this one? a folding one is a must now that I'm hauling it down there with me...

That is the best one.

It folds up very nicely, has balloon tires. A bargain at that price. I sold 10 a couple of years ago, I got a fair discount and no shipping. Try it, you will like it.

I bought a house plant cart:rolleyes::cool:for my wife for her birthday at Raton a couple of years ago. I think Mike Beard was selling them for a guy from Colorado. This plant cart:rolleyes::cool:looks just like a railgun cart and comes apart with some wing nuts and bolts. It has pneumatic tires and nice handles. It is a little low for me to clean on, so is being retro-fitted to work at my height.

Thats my story and I'm sticking to it too. They drop ship these babys from Tacoma, and I was able to get it ordered in time to have it at work on Tuesday. Your gonna have to put some kind of a oil rig device to get it to your height to clean your rail!

Dave Blazzard-
Thanks for the offer. I know the carts that you have-that was the one I was looking for at Home Depot. I was going to have Art pick it up and leave it there for him and Gary to use when I went home. It's too big to put in the 4-Runner. It looks like I'm getting my wife an early Christmas Present-along with the new snow blower I picked up at the end of the winter season last year...;)

Railgun Cart

You might be interested in one like this that my wife bought me for my birthday last week. It's at Lowes, it's called the Garden Plus Lawn and Garden Wagon, item # 249436, model # TC4218, They have been selling it for $69.98 and recently lowered the price to $49.96. I used a $10 card that they send to you in the mail and got it for $39.96. I looked all over town and saw carts for more money but none of them looked as sturdy as this one. The sides drop down so it fits a little better into the car. Just google up "Lowes" and go to the garden section and enter the above item name and it should pop up. I think mine will work out well.

Best,

Railgun Cart

When My wife asked me what I wanted for my 60th birthday I told her "a little red wagon"! She said that's for little kids, and I said "and your point is?":D

wow

I would think with the weight and expense of a rail gun, putting one in a a four wheel cart or wagon with a high center gravity could be a disastor.

How about a two wheeled cart with a scissors lift to get it on and off the bench?

Start with the Sinclair cart
--Need to first re-inforce the axel to the wheels with a steel rod inside the present tubular axel
--Second is attach piece of plywood which will extend up above the rail of Sinclair cart about 4-5 inches with a notch to accept the handle of rail gun
--Cover the top of cart on all 4 sides with styrifoam like 1" pipe insulation, this will self adhere to the cart top
--The base will be inserted from the back and ride on the back edge, nosed down at the front of cart
--The gun will now sit at the front of the cart resting on the styrifoam and held securely by the notched plywood
--I have a suitcase strap that I put around my neck and snap to gun handle to help carry the top to cleaning area and back to firing line
--Disadvantage is you can't clean off this cart but is certainly works to move the gun and rest around and most of us have this cart and its collapsable.
--Costs should be between $5-7, depending on what you have in your garage

Sinclair Cart-

I have a Sinclair Cart-used it at the 2004 Nationals in Kansas City, but wasn't carrying a Railgun in it. It worked fine for my rest and rear bag, and other items.
I was looking for a cart to clean off of. Once the fold-it is here, I will make some modifications to be able to do it. If anyone has a picture of how they acomplished this, it would be great. CL Peterson-It sounds like you have it all figured out with the sinclair cart for packing them around.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

It won't do you much good now, but the cart in the foreground was made by Mickey Coleman. You might have to twist Mickey's arm to build another one. The cart in the background is Ron Hoehn's. He could probably tell you who made it. You can't get much better rail gun cart than either of these as they are high enough to be able to put the top and base side by side fairly easily plus being able to clean off the top of the cart. Both carts will break down for transport, but don't fold up. I've seen rail guns wind up in the dirt when trying to adapt a ready made cart to carry the rail guns. Too high a center of gravity is something to be avoided.
