Who first made Shooters Choice?

Since I can't remember names any more, can some one tell me the name of the inventor of Shooters Choice? He was a small man of Italian descent and had a very long last name. I met him many years ago, but I can't remember his name. He passed away several years ago. Thanks in advance. James Mock
