Engravers
I have two engravers, one a small table top diamond scribe type. The second a monster New Hermes GTX-U. Motorized engraver. The BATF wants 07 Licensees to engrave 1/16" by +.003" letters. The diamond scribe is about maxed out by .003". The Motorized GTX does great engraving from .003-.010" with .010"-.015" carbide single flute engraving bits. Due to barrel curvature 1/8" letters are about the max on a tenon.
I use the diamond scribe to engrave all my Go and No Go gauges, and pilot bushing.
I have over $2,000.00 invested into Pantographs, vices and tooling. And still only have pantagraphs.
A fellow Gunsmith bought a CNC Mini mill with 4th axis. He has about $4,000.00 invested and can do many other things with it. Including larger lettering and logos.
