What kind of gun? Please help

Okay, I get it, experienced shooters have different ranges of knowledge. This particular one is really common; just about every historical writeup about the .243 Winchester also includes a comment about the development of the .244 Rem and 6mm Rem.
 
I think you missed his point. You wrote that .224 is the same as a 6mm Rem. A .244 is the predecessor but NOT a .224.
 
Don't worry AeroE, You might think that we are ready to jump on anybody that does a typo. I think I messed up once or 5 times.
