Welcome to California

Gents,

Stopped by the local gunshop on my way to the range today to buy some Gun Scrubber. The owner told me, "You better buy it now...come March, California is not allowing it to be imported into the state". I don't know why...probably some enviromental/health reason.

Sure am glad California is here to save us from ourselves.

Sigh...

Justin i feel your pain. I also live in the peoples republic of California. Its stupid things like that in this state that has other people in other states looking at us and saying, Man only in California, they must all be crazy over there, Good thing i dont live there. Gabe

"California is a lost cause"
Well, I must say you are wrong there.
It keeps the Pacific from eroding Nevada and Arizona.

Francis,

That, sir, is funny!

I don't think the gun store owner is BS'ing me. Can't see a real reason for them to do so. And California doing something like that is so believable...so California. I was also told they will not be able to get Tru Oil for the same reason. Go figger...

Why do I stay? The Wife and I are about 23 years into our jobs, and have 5 or so to go till retirement, so we're going to ride it out. But I can guarantee you that when we hang up our spurs, we are off to another state to be determined. I will not let my tax dollars finance the lunacy anymore.

I had the same thought as Pardini. What about brake cleaners and carb cleaners?

I'm sure if you could "smoke it" it would be legal in Cali. Now there's a great new product HERBAL bore cleaner. Cali is out of touch with reality COMPLETELY. IMHO.

the state of california is similar to colorado..two large demoract population centers surrounded by real people....
the demo's have ensured that the two large pop centers control what happens in the state...
the sf bay area and the la area...havens of "open minds" and welfare.....
( colorado has boulder and denver)
the state has decided it must protect the population from itself...so ANY chemical that has caused a a rat in a lab to cough is promptly banned....

no proof is needed..just a possibility is all that is needed.....

so yes it is probably true...

born raised educated married in lovely southern calif.....and glad i left.

i visit friends and family...but but consult a lawyer on what pistol i can take in and out of ca.....

You would be dumbfounded by the list of products (virtually any solvent that has any volatility) that the California Air Resources Board (C.A.R.B.) has banned. They have unlimited and unchecked power and answer to absolutely no one. A few years ago they were studying auto paints and how much more pollutants were generated to air condition a dark colored car vs. a lighter color. Created quite an uproar, of course they denied that their purpose was dictating what color cars could or could not be painted, but the scary thing is they could if they so chose and they have the authority to do so with the stroke of a pen.

Crying out loud, both our lawn mowers aren't California Compliant.
I don't know what they do with cattle that aren't California Compliant for flattulance.

Take all of the cattle (4-legged kind, not the people) in Kalifornia, from Harris ranch to every farm and ranch in the whole state. All of their flatulence combined is nothing compared to the noxious gas that comes out of Sacramento's political offices.

California is a disgrace. The left has a super majority in the state legislature, which means these talking mounds of excrement can pass damn near any law they want.

There used to be 100+ stores in the greater SF bay area where you could buy guns/ammo. Including hardware stores. Now there are about a dozen.

Francis,

We eat em'. Love me some ribeye...

I just spoke with another gun shop owner who stated California didn't like the carrier in Gun Scrubber. Birchwood Casey changed it, so it is now California compliant.

He said Tru-Oil was on California's $#@! list too. Didn't know why...

As an aside, he also told me his paying a buck a round for .223 ammo...and selling every last bit he buys.

If you choose to live in Kalifornication, then please do. I was just watching FOX news and another of its grand hosts, Stuart Varney, another Brit not unlike CNN's excellent Piers Morgan who seem to like to invite guests and then try to trap that guest into some weird argument.

Mr Varney was badgering (a new news creation process) a US Congressman into agreeing that Phil Mickleson, the the pro golfer, should not have to pay 63% in taxes, after his first million of income each year. Seems that the US and Kalifornication combined taxes, after your first million each year, would be about 63%. Still leaves Phil a cool $370,000 plus the first million. A tragedy as I see it. Seems that the good Mr. Mickleson doesn't like paying all that tax. My suggestion to Mr. Mickleson would be to move to Tennessee where we have no state income tax and where we allow gun cleaning products to be sold.

Moonbeam is exceeding his own expectations.

We have lived in CA since 1973. ABout 8 years ago we acquired a restaurant in NY. Although we pay taxes on the income earned to NY, CA insists on collecting state tax on the same income -- twice.

i think i would LIVE at my business and VISIT my vacation home in ca....pay taxes one place....

SOMEHOW FORWARDING MAIL SEEMS CHEAPER THAN PAYING INCOME TAX TWICE...

again..
standard demo policy...
nothing aboult holding the person doing the shooting responsible..
blame the "thing" and a bit off but well within thier anti gun position, make the OWNER liable...not the doer...

such clap trap

California! There is majic in the name.

We need to lighten up on California. For many years they have led the way for the rest of the country. They are still leading the way in showing the rest of us what does not work.

Thank God for Texas!

Liability Insurance

If you have a CCL, you are better off buying Liability insurance on your own, I do it for my own protection, just like I carry for my families protection. If by chance the intruder dies and sues me. Chances are, it will be his next of kin that does it.

You mean to say that if you shoot a scumbag in TX in self defense that they or their heirs, assigns, &c can sue you? Holy crap. Montana passed a law a few years back, even before they passed a stand your ground law, saying that if a person kills or injures another in self defense that they cannot be sued. Offended that daylights out of the ACLU and other leftists as I remember.

What I really enjoy is getting something shipped to me that includes a warning that the State of Kalifornia has determined that this product contains something that has been determined by them to be carcinogenic. Gee, thanks for warning me you rocket scientists, I wasn't planning on eating it. Intelligence is a constant and the population is increasing.

It would be all right except in Austin. The place is filled with liberal lawyers. Any place else in Texas it would be expected.
