A leo buddy gave me some once fired 5.56 brass from their range and I noticed some of them had a little water from a rain 3-4 days ago.

Anything to be concerned about??

They are all junk... Better send them all to me. :)

Does he/she have more?

Water and brass do not good company make. Water will create green residue if left unchecked beyond 24 hours. This residue will also create mil thickness and can change neck tension thereby adversely affecting your loads' accuracy. Of course, if you are only running them through a semi-auto for fun then who cares.

I think it may depend on the pH of the water/dirt/powder residue in the case. I've picked up pistol brass from the range that aside from being a little tarnished cleaned up very nicely with a little tumbling. Of course since I can barely hit the broad side of a barn from the inside with a handgun I can't comment on any effect on accuracy.

I've found that if you throw it with a sidearm motion, you'll keep the trajectory down & usually connect somewhere at about chest height. :D

Reminds me of a movie I watched on the tube a while back where people were supposedly able to shoot around something by flicking their wrists while firing. Wonder how many idjits or bystanders were injured or killed by some ninny trying that little trick. Actually I can hit the broadside of a barn with a pistol as long as it's good sized and not too far away, even from the outside. :D

My GrandDad used to tell stories about being so poor growing up in Tenn. that they couldn't afford bullets for their only gun, so they had to throw rocks at the rabbits.....said he had to switch to his left arm cuz the right one was tearin em up too bad:D:D
