tryin something new

If your going to try the Grendel case why not shoot the 80 gr Bart dominator

Maybe this....

mr.big - It appears that you've been caught up with that "node" thing. Just load up something that will hold a group and go win the match. If a barrel lasts one match, and you win that match...what more could you ask for? If the bullet blows a little more...hold a little more. As long as the load doesn't produce flyers you can do that with confidence. Sure, the less you have to hold the better but barrels are different and you have to treat them differently.

Cook up a load that shoots well, load your cases and go win!!! If you can't win (ever), get a barrel (maybe rifle) that will win. It's that simple, often expensive, but simple nonetheless.

I shot the Norma 201 load today and it shot the most consistent over a whole day of anything I have shot so far,,the wind was mostly quartering in from the right to left but at times was coming straight in and switching in from 2 oclock to in from 10 oclock and back and forth and back and forth,,like ever 5 seconds ,,

at 100 yards I shot 65,65,63 and 65,,at 200 I shot 62,59,59 and 61 finishing with a 499 for the 2nd match in a row,,comparing with the scores from some really good score shooters I was quiet pleased but would have really liked to have gotten a 500 pin the last two months ,,

my targets and Custom Class score sheet,,I cant blame anything on the gun, load or scope,,I just missed the wind call on too many shots to win shooting against that bunch,,

yes I can shoot 200 here and have a concrete bench and flags to shoot over,,and I agree I need to shoot a lot at 200 yards,,I only started this venture this year and I am happy with progress so far I just need to get better at catching the switches and letups,,holding 2 lines out and it switches you really hit way out there,,

Pretty good shooting there mr.big!

thanx Wilbur,,correct me if I am wrong but did you come to this years first UBR match at Gallatin in March,,if that was not you I apologize ,,that was my first ever organized match I ever shot,,I shot a 460 something then a 470 something and started getting a little better,,my last few matches have been

495
506 for 3rd at the State match
491
499 last month
499 yesterday

Rick Fox ,Ron Jackson ,Larry Averitt,Jr Rigsby and Gary Lawrence and some others have really helped me a lot over the summer answering questions and helping me with gun handling and bench manners,,

I set goals when I started to try and be able to call myself a 500 class shooter this year and maybe start trying to win some matches next year,,

I am grateful for the help the guys at Gallatin and Buck Creek have given me and a lot of questions I have had answered on the WWW,,

Yes, probably...I attended an early match there and just shot 100yds. Didn't want to set flags (can't would be the better word) for the 200yd deal so I just left.....drove all the way home! :)
