We had 43 shooters come out to our 2d Tomball Score Match this morning, gorgeous day, good conditions, and every body had a good time. Here are the results.

Factory Class:
Brad Hodges........233 2x
Russel Mathews...231
Tim Peck............214 1x

Modified Class:
Larry Saavendra..250 10x
Glenn Oaks.........249 14x
Scott Deal..........248 13x

Benchrest Class:
Ed Bernabeo.......250 21x
Gene Bukys........250 20x
Andy Uzdevine....250 18x
Ron Parker..........250 17x
Eddie Carter........250 16x

As a note, Russell Mathews shot an open sight vintage 1903 Springfield in the Factory Class at a special target, and he thought this was a good idea untill about the 3d shot of the 1st match.;) That thing is a 30-06, and only weighs about 6 pounds.

Our next match will be the first Sunday in June, and will be 200 yards. See everybody there...........jackie

Sorry Jackie, I did not shoot a 250 today. I have probably shot a dozen 250's in a row at Tomball. But today the range demanded payback; along with interest. It was not a good day shooting! But I had fun anyway.

I'm still waiting for my new score gun to get finished - but I hope to join y'all soon.

P.S. Joe, I'm sure you can understand Jackie's mistake. We all just expect you to shoot 250s.

If ya dance with the witch called Tomball long enough, she will step on your toes.

Russel did a good job shooting that old A3. Absolute original down to the steel buttplate, two stage trigger, and two groove barrel and ball ammo. He was muttering something about a past recoil pad next time. He shot some nice targets.

Yesterday the witch had her dancing slippers on. This morning she changed to track shoes w/long spikes -- winds S20, G26 and it's still early.

... enjoyed the shooting and getting to see everyone yesterday.

Tomball witch

It is a little known fact that the Tomball witch is really Marie Laveau of Cajun fame. She used to spend all her time in the Bayou country until she learned that Handsome Jack Schmidt spent lots of time around the Tomball Gun Club. Now she spends most of her time at TGC looking to ply her wiles on Handsome Jack. But he is a slippery devil and stays out of her clutches so she takes out her frustrations on the rest of us poor souls who wander into the Tomball Gun Club. Tis truly a pity.

Hey...Great Shooting

Those are some great scores by all classes. If I wasn't so lazy, I'd drive the 180 miles to shoot with you guys. Oh well...hope to see some of you at the Blue Bonnet in May.
