What I heard for the Two Gun was.....and hope this is correct:

Gene Buckys
Vick Smith
Jay Gore
John Horn
Charles Huckeba

Man those must have been some rough conditions.
There were a lot of .3s and .4s shot within the top 5.

it was a good shoot. it was Tomball. conditions were " swerllllley" it went four directions at the same time. as you can see even the real good "pro" shooters would have a flyier. Mr. Buckys won the travel'n trophy, I think he even had some "What the hey's" and "Where did THAT come from's". the target crew changed targets in like FOUR MIN. they were a great group of guys. thanks to Tomball Gun Club for letting us use their range. great fun with friends doing something we love.
Thanks Mike Wall

From Dallas I would like to send out a big Con-Grats to Gene B. He sat down at the far west end reloading area being Mr. Under the radar..., Keeping his cool even when there was a powder dispute at the whailing -wall.... LOL.... He sure put up some good targets on the wall and his shooting shows why he is as good as he is...I would also like to say congrats to everybody else who shot this weekend in some pretty crazy, switchy, windy and cool in the morning conditions..

Another big Con-Grats goes out to a new shooter to the area from the Peach state Georgia, "Zane The Train Wreck Kid".............. Welcome to TEXAS brother !!!LOL. You truly earned that award in which Vic put the file touches on it before it was passed over to you...Look forward to shooting with you again....

After all the whinnnnning Glenn and I managed to have Crawfish, cold beer, corn and tators Saturday night at the Bluewater Seafood Resturant out towards Spring, Texas... It was awesome and we had the biggest mudbugs I have seen in a long time. Like minature lobsters..... Seriously... Good eating, good times and loads of fun..

Hope everyone made it back to there destinations ok and I wish everyone all the best in the up coming shoots and the rest of the season..

Gene GREAT JOB and glad you got your name on that big Traveling trophy again.. Awesome job !!!

I'm sure Glenn would be happy if that was a 200 yard .119 but it was 100 yards in still some tuff conditions....

Thats my buddy !!!

Congrats
Glen and Jay Lynn. Looks like maybe Jay is back in the saddle again.

He was sure shooting good .....

Also I forgot to mention that the match was run pretty darn good by Russell and his team in the trenches while it was storming Friday evening at set up time and the crew in the stat house... Thanks Russell...

To my other shooting buddy Gary Walters.... Good luck on Thursday with the Hip surgery and all will be great !!... "Gary the BIONIC BENCH REST SHOOTER"...

Fun at Tomball

Congratulations to Gene Bukys, Jay Lynn Gore, Vic Smith, and all the other top finishers. You shot some great groups in very trying conditions. There were conditions that tested every skill you possessed. Temperature went from 51 to 84 degrees, wind went from dead calm to "blew my cleaning box off the table; twice", mirage went from none to shooting thru soup. Sometimes no two flags were pointing the same way or showing the same speed. Those who prevailed are just better than the rest of us. But it was a fun two days that I wouldn't have missed for the world.

"crawfish"

Thanks again to the Volunteers(Russell Matthews and crew) at the Tomball Gun Club for hosting this years "Crawfish". Volunteers may be the most important asset to this Sport. Driving through rural America, you often see signs in small towns/villages that say "Volunteer Fire Department". If you're the Village "Snob" and your house catches fire,I've heard that the Fire Truck has a habit of sometimes breaking down on the way to the fire. Just a reminder to show some love for the volunteers who make it all possible.

Mike Guillot and Richard Milton drove over from Louisiana to join the fun. Mike stated that efforts are being made to move the "Crawfish" back to Lafayette Louisiana next year. Lafayette is located in the heart of Cajun Country and a significant Cultural Center of the South. A tourist attraction Extraordinaire. The food alone is worth the trip. I intend to support this new plan by attending my first Louisiana "Crawfish" . If you love this sport, I suggest that we all rally behind a few volunteers, and make this effort a success. I believe that this move will help grow the sport, even in a crippled economy.

Look closely at the Match report. Its clear who the big performers were. 48 people showed up and supported this years "Crawfish" . I hope that number doubles at next years Match.

"Crawfish"

Like they say in Texas, That was some pretty good grazing at the Blue Water Sea Food Restaurant in Spring Texas. Doug describes it accurately. They really know how to throw down a good Crawfish Boil. However,Only in Louisiana do you get the authentic Cajun secret spices. That's why I'm anxious to get down there during Crawfish season. Its a tradition that the people of South Louisiana take real serious.

One of the Fringe benefits of the Sport is eating out at favorite spots across the Country after the Range gates close. If you don't shoot good, you should at least eat good.

As a seemingly non player at this time, I feel on the outside looking in.
Congratulations to Gene, and all of the others who did well, and those who made the trip.

I had everything loaded, and was ready to go.

Perhaps our workload will slow down enough toward the summers end so I can at least make a match or two.

Joe, my primary obligation to the Tomball Gun Club at this time is running our Benchrest Club Matches. Those dates I have set aside so there will be no doubt that I will be able to be there and fullfill my duty as Match Director...........jackie
