Our Club Matches have three Classes. Factory, Modified, and Benchrest.
In Factory, the only improvements to the Rifle can be to improve the bedding. No Factory Target Rifles, such as the Savage F Class and Rem 40X. These will shoot in Modified.

In Modified, this represents factory actioned Rifles that have custom barrels, stocks, triggers, etc, but with a stock no wider than 2 1/4 inches. Legal NBRSA HBR Rifles can shoot in Modified, as well as Factory Target Rifles. The Match Director has the final say as to which class a Rifle can be shot in.

In Benchrest Class, we keep it simple. Any legal firearm that does not have return to battery capabilities, (rail gun).

Take 290 from Austin to Waller, take a left on 2920 to Tomball. At Tomblall, take a left on 249, go about 1.5 miles to Zion Rd. I think it's the 3D red light. Take a right on Zion, go down about 1.5 miles till you cross the main line Rail Road tracks. Keep going about 4 blocks until you see the Orange TGC sign on the left., (if you cross the cypress creek bridge, you went too far). Take the dirt road down until it dead ends into the range.

What times do the matches start? If early AM, is there a GOOD motel nearby for a Friday night arrival?

My club matches start ar 8:30. I open the gates at 6:00.

The Registered Matches will start at 9:00 am on Saturday and 8:00 am on Sunday.

Tomball has quite a few nice Hotels. I use either the LaQuinta or Hampton Inn on Medical Complex Drive. 10 minutes from the range.

Make reservations early. Tomball is really getting crowded. Fact is, you can't tell where Houston ends, and Tomball begins.
 
Practice day

Jackie,

Will the range be open Feb 6 (Saturday) for a practice day? I will be out of town each weekend, and my rifle is not ready, and I will need to do some work to it the day before the match.
