I just thought you might be interested in seeing some pictures of my new 6 dasher. I built the action myself from a piece of 1.5" 17-4 stainless. It is a left handed dual port (load right, eject left). I used a PTG bolt and plan to flute it when I get some time.
The trigger is a Remington 700 housing that I cut parts of my own design to convert it to 2 ounces.
The barrel is a Kreiger 1.25" straight contour 8 twist about 27.5" long.
The stock is a piece of walnut from a tree my brother in-law cut down in his yard when he built his house about 10 years ago. I took it and had it sawed up and it has been drying since.
I made the butt plate from aluminum and the 20 MOA scope base is made from a piece of Power Custom blank base.
I fired it the first time today and plan to shoot it at St. Louis this week end. Not much time for working up loads and such, but what the heck, its likely to be the only home built action on the line.
