Jeff,

Dick called me this afternoon informing me that you called him about the upcoming Mt. Pleasant score and group matches. Yes, they are ALL going to be at 100 yards and will be fired on what I call the 'long range'. We should be done around 1:30pm (same as what Harrison used to be like) and we will report to the Judge's Bench (in beautiful downtown Winn) for match debriefing. You should be home by 3:30pm unless you stop for roadkill (my favorite is a couple of grays in the pressure cooker with an onion and a little garlic).

Please do bring that very special chair of yours, Jeff. You wouldn't be able to shoot straight without it! Also attached is the match schedule/program just especially for you. Print it out and pin it up above your reloading bench.

We only have January, February, March and then wham! April 22nd is the first score match! So start polishing your brass, selecting your bullets, and cleaning your favorite rifle cause the 22nd will be here before you know it!

By the way, are you shooting eggs at Holton this winter? I might make a drive over to try it.

Matt

Eggs!
Is that with a 22 handgun? 50y or 100y?
I guess, if ya start with eggs.......then go paint balls. That gits rid of the "Once a year People".....I heard Jeff bought a new barrel 2-3 yrs ago....I vaguely remember his picture in the magazine....

Don't pay the ransom............. I escaped. Yes Matt, long talk with Richard about the matches sounds like fun and I'll be there. No, haven't been shooting ( 100 yard eggs with .22's ) at Holton. It's my headache season and just don't know when they'll start so pretty much stay home in the winter. However, talked to Gammon the other day saying I'd like to write an article, Yes Alcohol Was Involved. Well, had a good day yesterday headache wise so called a bunch of my friends wishing the a Merry Christmas, one was Jim Stekle. While the conversation was going on it sounded like a great idea to go to Florida to see Jim and my friend Joe Ruth to attend a 22 shooting match with the following weekend gunshow the second week of January. Been talking to Jim for years and never meet him, and now I'm going to get him talked into the 22 match at Lakeland with me and Joe. Yea sounds like a lot of fun to me. Merry Christmas everyone.

I will do that Butch. Making a change of plans. Just going down for the match and see Jim and Joe. Why spend three days in a hotel for a gunshow. It's Florida, should be on a beach or a bar on a beach for three days. Hope you and your family had a great Christmas Butch.

Matt and Jeff.
Have you tried pool cue chalk? We did that at Monroe RPC last year. That was fun. Makes a nice cloud of dust, if ya hit em just right. We used 2 wood screws to balance the chalk and a rubber band. Use new rubber bands each time. I had one break and the chalk fall on the ground. Cost me tied for first place and a shoot off. 10 shots 10 min.
We think, if ya hit a screw just right the dust cloud doubles. From 6-8 " to 12". That's at 200y. so only a guess.
Used best edge to score. Meaning scratch paper wrapper it counts....

I'm looking at Holton's egg shoot schedule and they are showing shoots on Jan. 1, 14 & 21. It's a three hour drive. Guess I will have to watch the weather - they get those lake effect blizzards that come up unexpectedly over there. Don't have much else to do in the winter but make bullets and hopefully go to an egg shoot.

ICSC egg shoots...

Matt,

Don't forget to mention that Isabella County Sportsmans Club has an egg shoot a month all summer long.

It's for .22's but they have been letting me shoot my .17 HMR the last couple of years. Great fun when you hit the egg with the .17... you get an instant yellow cloud. The egg just kinda disappears.

Yes, I will post the Isabella County Sportsman's Club Egg Shoots and also the .22 benchrest matches in BRC.

A question for Wilbur... which forum is appropriate to post the egg shoot schedule?

I plan on making all the .22 events - have to break in the new Cooper ya know!

Jeffy needs to be there also (since this is his thread). :)

Anyone have Jim's phone number in Florida? I put it in the cell and he hasn't been returning my calls. Guy calls this morning saying, I'm not your friend Jim!! Put in the wrong number. If anyone knows him let him know I typed the wrong number in my cell and I'm really sorry. Ya Gammon I screwed up again. Bet he doesn't ask me to come down to see him again. Thanks.
