The Hawkeye Bore Scope /Methodolgoy

Hello All and Best wishes for a great New Year. A friend loaned me a Hawkeye. So far I have been unable to figure out how to get the most out of it. I have a new barrel to use as comparision. It is unchamered. How do you use yours when looking in a barrel? How to focus, slide, and turn. What is your procedure? The more info you can give me the better. Thank you Michael
 
Adjust the light to its brightest setting before using it. Clean the mirror with the swabs and juice it came with
 
Getting it in focus is a little tricky. I have the right angle eyepiece and after seeing slightly blurry, I detached it and cleaned the lenses that I thought would not need cleaning as the eyepiece was not removed...WOW! Such clarity! Know what your looking at and what it should look like. You will know if you are REALLY getting your gun clean.
