Was the shooter hurt? If not, they are one lucky person.

I did not have time this morning to complete my post so here is the rest of the story.
shooter recived 5 stitches on right hand.no other injuries. load was 36 grains of lil'gun.the bolt and locking block held. leupold scope has dissapeared, probably in orbit.
Says he wil never reload again. I think thats a good idea.

Chuck .

i get something OVER 200,000 psi with a 160 ftx bullet and 36 gr of lil gun....*(30-30 win)

What amazes me is it appears that the action simply split in half.
As memory serves me the actions are 1 piece.

Heck that dont look so bad, a little JB weld and krylon it will be good to go. Seriously how did the person come up with that destructive combo, misread the book, grab the wrong can?

There are people who think they can dream up their own loads by looking at a burn rate chart but this guy apparently thought powder is powder. That same amount of 4895 would have probably been a reasonable load. I would like to know the particulars. It ain't the powders fault. Kenny
