is De Facto registration, in that our socialist government OWNs everything, and we are "customers", "taxpayers", and "residents". This is why we have to pay property "taxes", which is actually rent to the government, and we are paying for the "priviledge" of living on "their" land and paying for its upkeep. This is why we have to "apply"(ask for permission) for a "permit"(get permission) to build an addition, or put up a fence, etc., so a gov't drone comes out, takes measurements, etc., then scurries back to "Taxman Central", so notations can be duly made in preparation for an increase in our, "Priviledge to live in your house, M'Lord, tax" next year. And, filling out a Permit to Purchase when buying a firearm is just another manifestation of our paternalistic form of socialism, the same as we led the Indians to believe was good for them when the "Great White Father" was going to take care of EVERYthing, like their land, oil, grazing rights, etc. Now we, too, have to believe in the "great father" in washington. When the USA was actually a republic, before lincoln was elected
, the citizens didn't want to pay property or income taxes(capita, or "head" taxes) so when the Constitution was written it specifically forbade these "taxes", and of course in a Republic, only the property owners can vote, so they didn't want to set things up that would turn them into eventual paupers. An interesting development recently, was the "Made in Montana" law passed in Montana; where firearms made there, to stay there, are not registered federally when made, and are stamped this way. It will be interesting to see how the federales react to this slap in their faces with feces. They should appreciate greatly the taste of $**t pie, after all, we've been tolerating it for 148 years.
