No, this is a brand new rifle. The guy wanted it opened up to a 223 Ackley Imp. so I take it apart and it starts to gall up on me.
I saw this stuff and kept turning the action without changing direction and it came off without messing up the threads but the nut's a different story.
I threaded the nut forward enough to set everything back and get the job done but it will not come off again. Those little balls start to jam up in there when you thread the nut one way then back the other.
If I do another one I'll let the customer know what's in there so if it gets ruined he can pay the extra expense to turn the nut off in the lathe or just trash the barrel & start over with a new one. I can't imagine spending the money to rebarrel an Edge ,but, you never know what somebody's willing to spend money on.
