Surveyors tape is by far the best. Sail cloth is way to heavy and does not respond to the slightest of air movement.

Fact of the matter is that a lot of folks sure do brag up your wind tails, there is no doubt about that Sir. I yield to your better material.

The only thing good about surveyor tape is that its cheap.

A properly shaped sailtail will show you everything you need to know with out all the unreadable flopping around adding more movement for the brain to decipher.

This is just my opinion of course...
