Rick Graham flags

I thought I would just drop Rick a Kudos here because he deserves one.

I just recieved my new set of flat top flags from Rick and they look great. They were compeleted ahead of schedule and he sent them before he got paid for them. And they were packaged with the greatest care I've ever seen for a product. He must have spent a half an hour wrapping them and spacing them in the box just so they wouldn't get harmed in shipping.

They came with a nice pamphlet on care and maintenance of the flags and it had pictures showing how he suggests storing them.

Rick and I chatted about what I wanted to order ahead of time and he was very curtious and took lots of time to get things figured out with me. He suggested that perhaps my stand's knobs might cause problems and allowed me to place my original order and then waited awhile for me to think about what I wanted.

By the way Rick, my Sinclair stands did interfere with the vanes just a bit on the lowest stand setting but I just ran to the hardware store and bought 6 1/4-20 wingnuts and replaced the big knobs with them. Now there's lots of clearance and it was fixed for about $2.10.

Thanks Rick and keep up the good work!

Hey Rick, how's this for storage?:

A friend of mine let me use his milling machine to make a storage system that would keep the vanes protected yet let me just grab the flags and throw them onto the stands quickly.

Here is a set-up that Rick helped me with by providing the routed wooded pieces I attached to the bottom of the container. Although this picture shows 6 flags mine has but five. Three regular sized flags and two larger ones for the back end of 200 yards. The container with a top was purchased at OfficeMax. Thanks again Rick! Art :)

Wow, nice storage set up! Thanks for the kind words!

You bet Rick. Anytime.
By the way, nice going up there in Tacoma! Sounds like you really cleaned house. Were you using these same flags?

Thanks for sharing Art. That looks like a great setup.

Thanks, but I really didn’t clean house. I was slow to get my gun tuned, and came in 10th the first morning at 100 yds. By the afternoon at 200 I had it working, and had a very good yardage. That carried me through the rest of the shoot as I worked hard to hang with some guys that were shooting very well. Eric Stanton for one had his black beauty Young rail cooking and was very tough all weekend. Mark Walker’s self made rail with his vibration dampened barrel was shooting incredibly well as evidenced by the .067 group he shot at 200 yds! He had some trouble with a dud primer and ended up dumping powder in his action or he would surely have been in the running at the end as well. Mustafa Bilal was experimenting with several new things on his Dickson rail during the shoot but really pulled it all together at the end. I look for him to be tough to beat at the next unlimited shoot. I shot the Sniper King group that first afternoon when conditions were not so great, and the most of the whole second day the conditions were very good so I was just lucky to be able to hold on for that win. I give a lot of credit to Del Bishop’s new bullet for that! Several guys got very close including Tom Dickson and Larry Boers. The Sniper King is a really fun shoot, and I highly recommend it to anyone who can make it out this way. Great people, great shooting, and if you are lucky conditions good enough to set possible world records, and maybe even get your name on the oldest trophy in Benchrest, the Sniper King!
