i am trying to order one in claro walnut in aaa or better with no inlet and left hand, so far it seems like poor customer service, has anyone else ordered from here??

Depends on what customer service problems you might be having. I have stocked two sporter type rifles with stocks from Richards. There time frame is pretty slow, but they are up front with that fact on there website. Just a normal stock takes up to 10 weeks. Anything out of the norm like a left hand stock can extend that time by a month or so.

As long they are not saying one thing and doing another I wouldn't really worry. Hard to do sometimes when they have your money, but it is a fact of life when dealing with any supplier of gun parts. Try ordering a Stiller action.......

its not the issue of production time, i have been waiting a week to even find out if they can supply what i am looking for, left hand and no inlet..this is part of a beaty falcon rimfire repeater for hunting i have a stiller diamondback in left hand in 6.5 x 47..

How did you contact them to find out about getting a stock?
I called them up told them what I wanted paid them what they wanted and it showed up.
Your post is vague on what the actual problem is.
Are you saying they don't have AAA in stock?
They are not answering the phone?
They haven't e-mailed you?
We need more info.

I have bought several stocks from them with no problem. Over all I have found them to be good people to deal with. I would call not e-mail.

I have ordered stocks from Richard's and never a problem. In fact I just placed an order for almost the exact type of stock LH with no inleting. They said it would be about 8 weeks.
Be patient and you will get what you want. They are good people.

i just dont wont to wait 2-3 weeks and then find out --opps we cant make that stock..so far in a week i have not recieved any word if they can make what i want, is the only issue i have...but should be getting a call tonight finally..

Their customer service is terrible and they can't tell the truth. Their inletting looks like the used a dull hatchet. The wood does look good.

Hey Butch
You need to let it all out and get in touch with your inner feelings.Quit sugar coatings everything and set your inner self free.

Have used a couple of their stocks.

Nice wood, inletting a bit rough; if what I got was a "micro fit" I would hate to see a "macro fit".

All said and done, I would use them again.

Yea, I tend to agree. I have probably had 6 or so of their stocks, maybe more. Well, I should say, I've had a couple of their stocks and bought plenty of blanks. Now, I admit I was doing actions that are not on their lists, so, they didn't have an inlet for mine. But, I found it easier and less work to simply buy a blank and make the stock myself. They do do a very nice job on their thumbhole stocks, and I like them. But, as much as I ended up whittling, I simply found it less work to start from a block of wood.

Actually, after a while, that's the way I felt about actions too...

Hi,
I have recently placed my first order with them.
I am confident of the results.
However one of the girls (Helen) was simply useless at processing my order.
It took me five phone calls with her, and one final one with Richard himself to sort things out.
I always thought that customer service was the best in the USA,I have just found the exception that confirms the rule!

An email to them usually takes about a week "or longer" to get a reply. Hang in there and they'll get back to you.
I've got another stock on order. Should show up in a couple more weeks?
They seem to be lacking in their communication skills. Right hand doesn't know what the left hand does.
I just plan out how I want the stock, put it in writing, drop it in the mail and forget about it till it shows. Sure beats getting all stress out over something you have no control over.
Depends on how bad you want one of their stocks. This one in the works will be #8. (or #9. I've lost count) Good stocks for the price and a real good selection.
As long as you know ahead of time what to expect as far as fit and finish and the amount of work to get it ready for a finish coat, they're a good deal.
I'am thinking they started out using a dull ax blade to carve their stocks but the last few look like they've learned how to sharpen they're cutting tools a bit. Much better than a few years ago. Still a good deal for the price.
Don't ask for a right hand stock inletted for a left hand action. Been there, done that but that's another story.

I gave them a chance several years ago.
Simple OEM Rem 722 stock to profile.
Didn't get the OEM Rem 722 stock back to duplicate-either-& it had name/address/e-mail/'phone number taped to butt on a 3X5 card.
Never again.

I wouldn't give them the time of day!
