Realistic tolerance when building a rifle?

Can one honestly qualify a +/-.0001” tolerance in a home garage shop with a mic?

I think the .002” window (+/-.001”) stated above is more realistic.

Other than certain chamber diameters, is there a feature you’d toss a barre in the scrap pile if you were at the top/bottom end of that +/-.001” window?

I think this is a great answer, I have DRO to the .0001” does it mean I can hold those tolerances. Nope! But if I need to turn a tenon to 1.060” yea I can get that with my mic.

everybody here is measuring in "tenths" the problem is its not the correct one....
