Primer Removal

Need advice - I was priming some Lapua 223 brass and inadvertently inserted one of the primers in backwards - I assume OK to use a small punch inserted through the neck to pop it out?

Tx

I would do something to attempt to kill the primer first put it in oil/wd 40- let it sit for a while as some of the stuff they seal them with takes a while to soak thru . still- BE CAREFUL- WEAR EYE PROTECTION-but how much is one round worth versus the potential problems

Resize it with your regular dies. The die will decap it. I wouldn't use a punch usless you want to wake the children.

A drop of oil into the primer, them run it though your depriming die.

More than likely you would not need to put the oil in, but it is just a extra precaution.

just PUSH it out with a decap die......DO NOT PUNCH IT OUT.

no need to kill if you push...........
it is an IMPACT device....just push
