opinion time primers in 300 win mag

ok 1000 yd light gun
300 win mag..200-210 gr bullets
h4831 powder
what primer would you start with ?
i have
federal: lr, lr match, lr mag match
cci : br
wolf/tula/pmc: lr , lr mag

has anyone tried the tula/wolf pmc( all the same) in a 1000 yd gun ?
i have shot lr in both 7mm and 300 with std lr primers, but at short distance with good results.

u r soooo bad tod....

holding a match at the touch hole and then closing the bolt was giving lower than expected velocities....

210 or 210M

In your 300 Win Mag, use 210 or 210M primers with H4831 powder. That is what I have been using for years, with no regrets. If you end up using a slow powder like H1000 or Retumbo, ( I wouldn't) you might want to use 215s. I started off with 215s, but it was proven to me that the 210s were more consistent. And I have a few trophies to prove it.

Mike The Russian primers are very good if you have the Mag stuff it will most likely outperform the other primers that you indicate. The only problem is applying the sensitivity after the primer hits the bottom of the pocket, otherwise you will get eratic ignition.
 
As we all know just because the word magnum is in the name doesn't require us to use a magnum primer but in this case, with the powder you're using I would without a doubt use a magnum primer. Any time you get up near 70gr of powder I would use a magnum primer to be sure it all ignites completely. When I look at the Hodgdon data all the bullet weights from 110gr to 230gr when used with H4831 use a Max charge over 70gr.

If this is a hunting load I don't see the need for a Match primer, CCI LRM primers would be my choice followed closely by Winchester WLRM primers. I would do the same with IMR4831.
