Once Again, Another Wind Flag Question

I have found that there alot of shooters that are color blind. And its not always the same. I started offering a myriad of colors and stripe combos because each shooter was different. While the orange and green is a staple on the range, it does no good for a shooter that cant see those colors.

Ed Watson, a Benchrest Hall of Famer and fierce competitor, used simple flags as described in the following link:

Concerning flag stands/poles, if you intend to travel very much the $10 tripod will be money lost. Bite the bullet and get some poles made specifically for benchrest shooting. Certainly, if the $10 tripod is adequate at the ranges you shoot then by all means buy the tripod.

I have made my flags much like the ones in this article and they work as good as any other for my purpose. The poles are 3/8" round fiberglass rods found at Tractor and Supply for electric fencing, the ones with the foot step to force them into the ground. The cost is $1.79 each and they work better for my purpose than tripods.

What I like best about the rods is that you can store six or more in a double gun case, flags rods and all. We have a lot of wind out here and these rods will stand better than tripods.

One small downside is that I sometimes have to drive a steel spike into the ground to make a hole where the ground is very hard. This is easy enough.
