I didn't say that what I was using was a lighter contour!!
I said, that I was using a taper that suited my rifles --- in fact it's a taper that is about half way between what would be a LV taper and a HV taper --- the fat end is 1.225 for 4 inches and tapers to about .900 at the muzzle -- The folks at Bartline are quite familiar with it ---
With regard to the tuner/snubber – I don’t think that I see barrels shoot better after installing the tuner??? I think that a barrel will shoot the same ultimate accuracy with, or without a tuner. – I could be wrong here ---I’m still working on this --- What I do think I know for sure is that one of my tuner/snubbers will make a barrel hold its tune thru a wider window or thru more climatic changes than a barrel without one on it. --- And if a barrel dose lose it's tune, it tends to go out of tune much less violently
