I saw one of the coolest front rests this spring @ the Crawfish Shoot in Jacksonville. It is made in Europe, quite light, smallish, joystick run by a sliding handle on a hardened part of the rest. Very positive and easy to use. A bit pricey, heck, a lot pricey but the thing is reallllly nice.

Don't know if it would take the thumping of 30's but likely would and is fine with RF rifles.

The lad who sells them lives close to Jacksonville and perhaps he will chime in here but I'm still tempted to spend some of the Nursing Home's Money.

I recently sent my 2007 JJ rest in for refurb. I had bought it used and the original owner had made mods to it. Had Jon return it to original configuration. Used it yesterday at a VFS match and was shooting a 30BR. When I was putting the rest away, I noticed that the top would rotate under moderate pressure. I don't remember it doing this when I sent it to Jon. Came across this post after I returned home and went to Kens web site and looked at a video of the NOTA rest and saw that the movable top was a feature of the rest. So, that's got me wondering if Jon did that to my rest when he did the refurb, or it was always that way and I didn't notice it, or it just got loose and needs to be re-tightened. Got to call Jon and see what the truth is. I can see the rationale for allowing the top to rotate when it is moved sideways as it would seem to keep more consistent pressure on the sides of the forend of the rifle. Probably not a big factor in group shooting. Thoughts anyone?

I don't like the top to rotate. That said, I've never seen any harm caused by a rotating top and believe it to be beneficial when score shooting a big rimfire target.

I would look at the lenzi rest from Italy
Pmt sells them I have 3 now . They are a work of art

Very nice looking rest! I can only afford the pics, though! :)

I have been eyeing that rest on PMA's website. It looks very good and I've heard good things about it. I didn't think a rest could be smoother than a SEB but that's what I hear about the Lenzi.

What I still don't hear, is how much my scores will improve, though. If it'll help, I can turn loose of the money but I'm not into spending on things that don't make a positive difference. I save that for wasting on other stuff that doesn't help...usually.

All kidding aside, very nice looking rest, indeed.
