New AK class!!

So following on the undisputed success of the ARs in benchrest competition I understand there will now be a new IBS class for the most popular automatic rifle of all time. Only makes sense since there are so many of them out there just itching to show what they can do. I am working on a stable mounting system for a Weaver T36, will post pictures when I have it ready. I'm pretty sure it will outshoot the ARs, but expect that the new class will still be separate.

Adrian, will you be participating? I hear David Apple has an AK he just can't wait to bring out...

ohh i protest....

how are we poorly plastic rifles ever going to be able to compete against the mighty 30 cal ak's....this is unfair.

Just state group size in meters and they will be competitive. That way an 8" agg at 100 would about a .203 MOA (meters of angle).

ps . getting shot at by one is no joke no matter what the range.
 
Nah not enough snob appeal in the AKs for there to ever be a class regardless of the accurasy or lack of.
 
You'd need to watch out for cheaters. A couple of beans cans flattened out, some black paint & irrigation pipe & you could make a little Ruger mini 30 ugly enough to pass for an AK.....
